Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB) now enables customers to launch Hyperledger Fabric 2.2 fully managed networks with advanced chaincode management and data sharing features. AMB is a fully managed service that allows customers to set up and manage scalable private blockchain networks with just a few clicks. AMB eliminates the overhead required to create the blockchain network and automatically scales to meet the demands of thousands of applications running millions of transactions.

Hyperledger Fabric (Fabric) 2.2 is the first long-term support release of the v 2.x releases, and introduces decentralized governance for chaincodes (or smart contracts) to better enable collaboration of real-world enterprises. This improved governance framework allows multiple organizations to come to reach consensus on the parameters of a chaincode, such as the chaincode endorsement policy, before it can be used to interact with the ledger. Fabric 2.2 also enables advanced patterns for sharing private data without the requirement of creating private data collections for all combinations of channel members that may want to participate. Instead of sharing private data within a collection of multiple members, customers can share private data across collections, where each collection may include a single organization, or for example, a single organization along with a regulator or auditor. Finally, Fabric 2.2 improves the packaging and installation process for chaincodes.

Customers can access Fabric 2.2 from the Amazon Managed Blockchain console and selecting “Create private network”. This feature is generally available in all regions where AMB Fabric 1.2 and 1.4 is available: US East (N. Virginia), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo).
