AWS DataSync now supports the use of tags with task executions. A DataSync task defines where and how data is transferred using AWS DataSync and a task execution is an individual run of a task. With this new feature, you can apply tags each time you execute a task, giving you greater control and management over your task executions.
AWS DataSync is an online data transfer service that makes it easy to move petabytes of data between on-premises storage, edge locations, or other cloud providers, and AWS Storage services. It uses a purpose-built network protocol and scale-out architecture to accelerate data movement and provides encryption of data in-transit and at-rest, along with end-to-end data integrity verification. AWS DataSync provides control and monitoring capabilities such as data transfer scheduling and include and exclude filters, and gives you granular visibility into the transfer process through Amazon CloudWatch metrics, logs, and events. With this new feature, you can now use tags to manage, identify, organize, search for, and filter all AWS DataSync resources, including agents, locations, tasks, and task executions.
