Today, we are excited to announce our v1.12.1 AWS SimSpace Weaver app SDK update. This update enables support for AWS IAM Identity Center (successor to AWS Single Sign-On) and the ability to use temporary credentials to start, stop, and manage simulations. AWS SimSpace Weaver is a fully managed compute service that helps customers deploy large spatial simulations in the cloud. Launched this past re:Invent, SimSpace Weaver allows customers to create seamless virtual worlds with millions of objects that can interact with one another in real time without ever worrying about managing the back-end infrastructure.

AWS IAM Identity Center allows you to create or connect workforce identities and centrally manage access across your AWS accounts and applications. Prior to today, simulation builders had to self-manage their long term credentials when working with SimSpace Weaver. IAM Identity Center is the new recommended approach for workforce authentication and authorization on AWS and developers can now utilize temporary credentials to start, stop, and manage their simulations. As a best practice, we recommend all users manage these temporary credentials through IAM Identity Center. If you’re already using IAM Identity Center then you’re all set.

AWS SimSpace Weaver support for AWS IAM Identity Center is generally available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), and Europe (Stockholm).
