Amazon Monitron is an end-to-end system that uses machine learning to detect abnormal conditions in industrial equipment and enable predictive maintenance. Amazon Monitron includes purpose-built sensors to capture vibration and temperature data; gateways to automatically transfer data to the AWS Cloud; and a mobile and web application for system setup, analytics, and notification.

We are excited to announce Amazon Monitron’s Kinesis 2.0 data stream: the updated schema includes new insights from using Monitron sensors and gateways. It also includes asset state transition events triggered by users. This new schema is capable of receiving additional data types that will be added in the future. By configuring Amazon Monitron to automatically add your data to a Kinesis stream, customers can send it to various destinations, including Amazon S3 and Lambda.

With this launch, customers can now collect sensor and gateway device, connectivity status, and user closure codes from their live stream. Connectivity statuses will enable customers to receive Kinesis updates when the Monitron service identifies that any sensor or gateway has gone offline. User closure codes enable customers to track the user responses to Monitron notifications. This opens the ability to report common themes across failure modes and actions taken. This feature also enables customers to create work orders for their maintenance teams in their enterprise asset management system (EAM).

To learn more about this capability, see our documentation. This capability is available in all Regions where Amazon Monitron is publicly available. For more information about region availability, see AWS Regional Services.
