Amazon SageMaker Studio Lab deployed CAPTCHA, (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart), to deter automated bots and scripts, from absorbing compute capacity that is meant for customers experimenting with machine learning.
Customers are now enjoying more CPU and GPU capacity with Amazon SageMaker Studio Lab, which is a free service, that enables customers to experiment with machine learning code in a Jupyter IDE, hosted on the AWS cloud. SageMaker Studio Lab leverages AWS WAF CAPTCHA JS API, which challenges customers with simple puzzle images, that are easy for humans but hard for bots to solve. This has enabled Studio Lab to reclaim compute that bots were using, and redistribute it to the ML learners who need it.
