AWS IAM Identity Center administrators can now configure the access portal session duration to last up to 90 days. The session duration limit defines how long signed-in users can access the AWS access portal and Identity Center enabled applications before being prompted to re-authenticate.

IAM Identity Center administrators can set session durations between 15 minutes and 90 days long. Previously, the upper limit was 7 days. The increase gives customers additional flexibility that they can use based on their security context and desired end-user experience. The default IAM Identity Center session duration continues to be eight (8) hours and any existing customer-configured session limits will remain unchanged.

To learn how to configure your maximum session duration, see Configure Access Portal Session Duration in the IAM Identity Center User Guide.
