AWS Application Composer now integrates AWS Step Functions Workflow Studio, making it easier for developers to visually design workflows, connect services, and develop applications using a single visual Infrastructure as Code (IaC) builder. With AWS Application Composer, you can focus on the high-level architecture of your application with deployment-ready infrastructure as code definitions being automatically composed.

AWS Step Functions, a visual workflow service capable of orchestrating 12,000+ API actions from over 220 AWS services, helps you build resilient workflows to orchestrate services in your applications. Workflow Studio for AWS Step Functions provides a low code interface to build workflows visually. Now, with Workflow Studio in AWS Application Composer, you can develop and iterate on workflow IaC definitions faster, accelerating your path from prototype to production. This integration provides a complete visual experience for developing applications composed of AWS services, allowing you to focus on your application architecture, while using workflows to orchestrate your business processes. AWS Application Composer automatically creates and updates the AWS CloudFormation resources and configurations while ensuring your local AWS CloudFormation template stays in sync.

AWS Application Composer is available in the US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (N. California, Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo), Canada (Central) and Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Stockholm) regions.

To get started, go to AWS Application Composer and build your application with a Step Functions state machine resource or open an existing AWS CloudFormation template. To learn more, please see the Developer Guide and the launch blog.
