Starting today, you can access recommendations in AWS Cost Explorer to help you purchase Amazon MemoryDB reserved nodes. MemoryDB reserved nodes allow you to save up to 55% over On-Demand node prices in exchange for a usage commitment over a one or three-year term. Now with these new recommendations, you can purchase MemoryDB reserved nodes in minutes, making it even easier to optimize your MemoryDB spend.

With this launch, Cost Explorer now provides recommendations for 6 reservation models: Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, Amazon ElastiCache, Amazon OpenSearch, and Amazon MemoryDB reservations. Cost Explorer automatically analyzes your usage and identifies all of the on-demand usage that can be covered with reservations. Then, Cost Explorer generates recommendations to optimally cover your On-Demand usage at the discounted reservation rate. You can also adjust the recommendation parameters such as term length, payment term, and historical time period of usage to ensure that the recommendations align with your organization’s needs. After purchasing MemoryDB reserved nodes, you can monitor them with utilization and coverage reports in Cost Explorer. MemoryDB reservation recommendations are available in all AWS Regions where MemoryDB reserved nodes are available, except China (Beijing, operated by Sinnet) and China (Ningxia, operated by NWCD).
