Starting today, Amazon EC2 Instance Connect and EC2 Serial console are also available in the Israel (Tel-Aviv) region. Amazon EC2 Instance Connect provides a single-click and single command Secure shell (SSH) based connectivity to instances and EC2 Serial Console provides a simple and secure way to troubleshoot boot and network connectivity issues by establishing a connection to the serial port of an instance.
With EC2 Instance Connect, you can control SSH access to your instances using AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies as well as audit connection requests with AWS CloudTrail events. EC2 Instance Connect further enhances your security posture by generating one-time use SSH keys for SSH connectivity, reducing the operational burden of creating, managing and rotating keys. Customers also have the option to use their own keys for SSH connectivity.
With the EC2 Serial Console feature, you can interactively run troubleshooting commands for resolving boot and network configuration issues. EC2 Serial Console is ideal for situations where you are unable to connect to your instance via normal SSH or RDP.
To get started, you can navigate to the Amazon EC2 console, select the instance you want to connect to and with a single click connect using EC2 Serial Console or Instance Connect. You can also connect from the AWS CLI or API. To learn more see our documentation.
