Amazon OpenSearch Serverless Includes SQL API Support
Amazon OpenSearch Serverless now enables you to query your data using OpenSearch SQL and OpenSearch Piped Processing Language (PPL) through REST API, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), and Command Line Interface (CLI). Amazon OpenSearch Serverless is a serverless option that makes it easy to run search and analytics workloads without having to think about infrastructure management. This new SQL and PPL API support addresses the need for familiar query syntax and improved integration with existing analytics tools, benefiting data analysts and developers who work with OpenSearch Serverless collections.
SQL API support in OpenSearch Serverless allows you to leverage your existing SQL skills and tools to analyze data stored in your collections. You can now use the AWS CLI to run SQL queries directly from your terminal, connect your preferred business intelligence tools JDBC drivers, and integrate SQL and PPL queries into your Java applications. This feature is particularly useful for organizations looking to streamline their analytics workflows or those transitioning from traditional relational databases to OpenSearch Serverless.
