Using AWS and the AWS Partner Network (APN), Globe Telecom reduced its total cost of ownership by 30 percent, increased app performance by 15 times, and reduced provisioning from three months to two days. Globe Telecom, commonly known as Globe, is a primary provider of telecommunications services in the Philippines, serving more than 65 million mobile subscribers. Globe has worked with APN partners for many elements of its migration to AWS, including multiple migration projects from Oracle to AWS that resulted in four times better performance at one-tenth of the cost, and Amazon Connect for its new cloud-based call center solution that is expected to result in 35 percent fewer voice calls. Pebbles Sy-Manalang, CIO of Globe Telecom, spoke at re:Invent 2018.
