existing VPC template is missing
can you please create an existing template for this autoscaling ?
as it stands the Sophos UTM 9 (Auto Scaling PAYG) only supports new vpc
many customers already have vpc with their subnets including utm firewalls

Best UTM for the Medium type organization
What do you like best about the product?
policy creation & firewall rules creation are user friendly
What do you dislike about the product?
reports generation & log viewer need to imporve & network related thing some more need to have graphical view will be added advantages

managing multiple ISP gateways

What do you like best about the product?
User based policy are quite good..reporting part is very detailed and useful. Performace is awesome for mid level organization.. Administration is quite easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Gui speed is bit slow, other than this all seems good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am controlling traffice to and from internet and having visibility on usage.
Sophos UTM is suitable for SME/education institute.
What do you like best about the product?
Sophos UTM is stable, I can say it included a lot of features inside one appliance such as AV, IPS, QoS, SD-WAN.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is not friendly enough. I hope Sophos can give more visibility for the logs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The reason why I am saying Sophos UTM is good for SMEs is that it's cheaper than markets' firewalls.
Sophos XG best Gateway
What do you like best about the product?
Sophos XG is easy to deploy, configure and manage. The features like web filter, Application filter, Email Protection, Server protection are great in their purpose.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support needs to be improved as sometimes it takes lots of time to connect. Licencing cost should be reviewed for small organizations. Some features need the training to configure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Configured remote VPN on Sophos XG firewall which helps me to connect the users from other locations. I can easily configure the web filter and application filter to filter unproductive traffic. Different types of reporting give an easy analysis of network traffic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is the best firewall with all the advanced features. Highly recommended for any organization

What do you like best about the product?
Its ease of functionality for configuring interfaces, network definitions, service definitions, acls or firewall rules, VPN users, and log monitoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not allow an administrator to restrict access to just certain sections of the Sophos UTM box.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an excellent VPN box for strict AES encryption. It is very easy to manage and monitor system logs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sophos needs to make user admin more restrictive for security purposes.

Very flexible, you have great control over how your traffic flows.

Part of the GUI (Web filter Profiles) can be a bit cumbersome.

Needed many layers of protection but did not have the staff to manage them independently.

SOPHOS UTM meant for SMB with plug and Play Features... When It's come to SSL traffic inspection

SOPHOS use its own technology for Gateway A/V and for IDS.. unlike other OEMs..they use share database.. with each other..
What do you dislike about the product?
Not have Full DLP features like other OEMs..some times Firmware issue alos persist with SOPHOS.

We were looking for solution for Multiple branch secure connectivity..where SOPHOS RED help us.. with quite competitive budget.

For SMB I will recommend to go with SOPHOS.
Sophos was a really tough product for us to use in an enterprise environment.

It was pretty easy to deploy with the basic settings, but configuring was a pain.

It didnt stop most things out of the box. There was all types of configuration necessary to catch it all
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to cut down on malware and malicious software being installed. We really didnt have a clue until we turned Microsoft ATP on. All the alerts started coming through, and they were all missed by Sophos.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider another product. This was really bad for our company, especially with the SMB1 vulnerability.
