What do you like best about the product?
The simple implementation is a great feature, combined with the full stack monitoring and AI based root cause problem analysis makes Dynatrace the only player worth evaluating.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are missing some features from AppMon, and can’t wait for those capabilities to be added, as well as the new features coming, like session replay.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are reporting vital user metrics to our business partners
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it.

What do you like best about the product?
With Dynatrace the ability to receive instant alerts, easy to read headlines of prod incidents. Installation is simple. Our customers (dev teams) seem less intimidated by the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’m still learning more about the product. My company switched from Appmon to Dynatrace a few weeks ago and we moved one prod application to Dynatrace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CPU issues, hosts in production being down. Recently, I was in Dynatrace looking at physical machines & seen a group of prod servers on the same host (VMware had to fix it) at the same time. With Dynatrace I was able to spot this and alert the VMware team that an affinity rule is missing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes.

What do you like best about the product?
High expectation and anticipation for upcoming features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs time to trust the intelligence / recommendations by the product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Still on-boarding, but the expectation to make life simple in the organisation is highly anticipated.

Monitoring purchased applications with dynatrace

  • January 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to customize and tailor monitoring for our needs
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing is complex. Host units calculated based on memory of our logical partitions (aix virtual machines). No other vendor behaves this way and it complicates the deployment a bit. We have to figure out manually our deployment footprint to determine currrent and future licensing needs. Cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring of availability and application performance for a packaged application with dc rum.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They understand the nature of our tasks (operational support, Devops, etc.) and have built tools designed to save labor, effort and money

Top of the line...but cost too..

  • January 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The details it provides and ease of use is top of the line.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost, pricing model. The lack of synthetic monitoring when using the managed solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting insight into vendor software that I didn’t before to help resolve issues faster and more accurately with less guess work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dynatrace is great, but be sure to take into account the pricing. Synthetic testing is extra and would be nice to do on-prem testing with the product. Or managed. When external synthetic testing is needed, I understand that as an additional cost.
