What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The integration services allow me to catalog my data so much easier now than the manual processes we had to use before.

Useful SQL Integration

  • June 20, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The helpful aspect of this integration stems from the functionality that it provides if you have a Microsoft heavy organization. In my opinion that is the focal point that your org should focus on this integration. Ask yourself the question - do we currently use other Microsoft products that can leveraged between this server and Alation and how do we conduct the rest of our aligned business processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like the SQL server from Microsoft is not really weak or serve as something to dislike. The issue I do take with it is the other side of the coin as it relates to its strength. This integration is not for all businesses or even those that simply uses Alation. Make sure that you use other Microsoft products to get the most bang for your buck - figuratively and literally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business processes that the IT team leverages for data governance. I have lived in a heavy Jira ran world in HRIS and IT and this integration helps with protecting our assets. We benefit from this because of strict ordinances tied to changes in the org. Additionally, I am a heavy Power BI user who runs and creates reports for our executive leadership.
