AppDynamics - Nice to have APM
What do you like best about the product?
It give us more free hands for configuration. Integration with other tool/software. Support of AppD is very quick.
What do you dislike about the product?
All manual setup and nothing automated. Sometimes documentation not give accurate information specially on extension which not updated on timely manner. Support team always work through chat which sometimes leads to miscommunication. It would be better if available through chat like Dynatrace. There is 200 Business Transactions limit per application which is critical for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We using Dynatrace APM tool and going to replace with AppDynamics. Main difference is more plugins availability and support team is solid.

AppD needs a large amount of storage and it adds up to the cost of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of the infrastructure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use AppD for Application and Infrastructure monitoring. It has helped us in determining the stability of infrastructure and robustness of our application code. We were able to identify which part of our code was mostly used and we could prioritise the optimisation of that piece of code. It also helped us determine which business opportunity was most used by our customers and thereby giving us insights of what contributes best to the bottom line of the organisation.
