Extraction & Data Governance Framework of Immuta is excellent for our AWS & Databricks procurements
What do you like best about the product?
Immuta is a cloud data access control platform that is adaptive & scalable based on the dynamic nature of our data sources. It provisions all source-target integration seamlessly so that we can facilitate data transition from our on-premise to cloud infrastructure. Since it is an automated platform hosted in the cloud, we save a lot of time as it doesn't require any job parsing or agent installations. Essential datasets are registered accurately in its catalog and we can also enable custom preferences while performing data analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
It enforces policies for our data governance through the creation of virtual references to the data instead of replicating the data. This is impressive as our customers would want to be compliant with data regulatory standards such as GDPR, CCPA & HIPAA while handing their critical data. Overall, the services offered by Immuta are satisfactory for our data source integrations & security governance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize Immuta to structure our complex data policies through its easy-to-build rules for our AWS, Databricks and other data sources. It supports masking & row restriction features which can be created with ease using its DSL Builder. We keep track of our data source performance & usage through custom metrics offered by Immuta. We define our datasets which are populated in its catalog and are replicated only under on-demand requests. We can also make use of its auto lineage and quick cataloging features which are based on the provided Metadata.
Good Experience

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Did not go deep enough to know any issues, so far good.
Immuta - Empower Data Owners & solving data access complexities
What do you like best about the product?
Immuta has very easy to use or self-service capabilities, intuitive GUI, and easy to implement controls.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike about at this time, but would like to explore more on the new "data catalog/discovery" capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have empower data owners to own their data, resolved complex data compliance aspects using "attribute based rules", and have improved data governance on our D&A platforms.
Great experience
What do you like best about the product?
Support, functionality, improvements from release to release, communication
What do you dislike about the product?
Custom policies integration, limited API (and documentation for it), limited ways to automatise things
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Governance, it is our main solution for this purpose
A great tool for managing access to your data warehouse and building a data catalog
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to configure access to tables in a very granular manner. User management via groups is easy and intuitive. Auto-detection of sensitive data saves a lot of time for our data stewards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Whenever I have to add a new table from a data warehouse, which is already known to Immuta, I have to type the connection details again and again (host, username, etc.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Out business requires controlling access permissions for the internal stakeholders to specific tables, columns, and rows. On top of that, internal stakeholders should be able to find the relevant tables by themselves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for SaaS version, not the hosted one. You will reduce your AWS bills and save the headache of hosting and upgrades.
