the Sophos Firewall — it’s super easy to use, really powerful, and totally worth the price
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to Use – The interface is user-friendly, even for those who aren’t deep into networking.
Strong Security Features – Includes advanced threat protection, intrusion prevention, and ransomware blocking.
Great Value – Offers a solid mix of features for the price, especially compared to some bigger names.
Synchronized Security – Works really well with other Sophos products (like their antivirus) for better visibility and response.
Flexible Deployment – Can be used as hardware, software, or in the cloud.
Good Reporting & Insights – Built-in reporting helps track usage, threats, and more without extra tools

Cyberattacks like ransomware, phishing, and malware keep getting smarter. Lack of Network Visibility, Complex Management, Budget Constraints

What do you like best about the product?
Sophos Firewall is easy to manage, even for non-technical users. The interface is intuitive, simplifying policy creation and security management. Its strong security features effectively block threats and provide clear visibility into network traffic. Performance is stable, rarely impacting network speed or reliability. However, sometimes firmware updates can be tricky and require extra attention to avoid configuration issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
While overall Sophos Firewall works well, a few things could be improved. Firmware updates can sometimes cause unexpected issues or require careful manual steps. The reporting features, although detailed, could be more customizable and easier to export. Occasionally, troubleshooting complex policies or NAT rules can be a bit confusing without deeper technical knowledge. Also, some advanced features, like SD-WAN configuration, feel a little less polished compared to competitors. Finally, support response times can vary — sometimes very fast, but other times slower than expected depending on the issue severity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sophos Firewall is helping us protect our network from external threats like malware, ransomware, and intrusion attempts. It also simplifies managing internet access and application control for users across different departments. With its clear traffic visibility and reporting, we can quickly spot unusual behavior and take action before it becomes a bigger problem. The built-in VPN features make it easy and secure for remote users to connect to our office network. Overall, it gives us peace of mind by strengthening our security while reducing the time and effort needed to manage and monitor everything.
User friendly and Cost Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
The UI is easy to manoeuvre around, easy to manage and check on logs. Health alert are on dashboard can be customize to your liking
What do you dislike about the product?
Connection from central to individual firewall is very slow, would love if this portion is improved

Peripheral management, end user device management and audit logs

Synchronized security, a core feature of Sophos products, is unmatched when it comes to robust multi-layered security of endpoints and networks.

Lack of a secure mobile app to be able to remotely manage firewalls can be a constraint sometimes.

Sophos Firewall provides a 360 set of threat management and protection capabilities that are far more powerful than other solutions when it works integrated with other Sophos products like endpoint protection, switches, APs.
Sophos Firewall: Robust and Seamless
What do you like best about the product?
The Sophos Firewall has some of the best security features. It has multiple avenues of support. It also has a great user friendly system that syncs up with Sophos central.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost vs other competitors could be better and small Sophos central navigation hiccups are the only negative thoughts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sophos Firewall helps us implement security and continuity in our business which takes a lot of the legwork out of some issues.

It is extremely sophisticated and simplistic at the same time.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI can be tricky for inexperienced admins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mitigating modern malicious threat vectors and other attacks, protecting company data and employee information.

The stability of the system and the continuous firmware updates to keep it always at the forefront

The lack of a massive import of settings via file

What do you like best about the product?
Mobile section allows my team to fully control our devices despite their different location and utility purpose. Our company has a wide territory extension handling different activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mailbox investigation gets annoying. Recovering a quarantined mail requires to much time.

Blocks unwanted traffic which does not require further interaction.
