Sophos XGS - Exceptional Product
What do you like best about the product?
The firewall is simple to setup and manage but still has an exceptional security features and functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I can honestly say that I dislike
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is protecting our site and the benefits are I can sit back in the knowledge that the company data is secure.

identify and block active threat, Prevent the lateral movement of attacks, Deliver immediate insights into compromised devices, users and application. Network Traffic is easy to manage

Need to add more details on alerts emails
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On-premise Resources like Exchange Server and Mail Appliance from DNAT Rules and only services which required to allowed. users networks traffic to WAN and LAN is from firewall incase they want to access any kind of sources on the network. i can allow only what ports they are using
Good product with a lot of features, easy to administer
What do you like best about the product?
A lot of features like WAF, IPS, Web- and Mailprotection. Easy to implement and use. Good customer support. Central administration is possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimee it took a long time to get the updates for an automated deploymenent via the the central administration. Licensing could be more easy.

What do you dislike about the product?
While we use the system frequently and appreciate its capabilities, some advanced configurations—especially around traffic shaping and custom rules—require deeper expertise and time. Additionally, support responsiveness during urgent scenarios can vary, and the licensing costs may be challenging for smaller or resource-constrained institutions.

Sophos Firewall effectively addresses key network security challenges, including intrusion prevention, malware threats, unsafe web access, and inconsistent user policy enforcement. By centralizing threat management, simplifying policy control, and offering deep visibility into traffic patterns, it helps us maintain a secure, compliant, and efficient network environment. The ease of integration with endpoint tools and high frequency of use ensures minimal downtime, faster incident response, and better resource allocation—benefiting both our IT team and end users.

Sophos Firewall stands out for its seamless integration with Sophos Endpoint (Synchronized Security), intuitive interface, and efficient TLS inspection via its Xstream architecture. It also offers strong built-in reporting and centralized cloud management via Sophos Central.

Sophos Firewall can be less flexible than others in complex enterprise environments, especially for advanced custom configurations.

Intuitive and easy configuration and exceptional performance. The support is superb

The notification system should be redefined if it has been integrated into Sophos central, as it is not entirely clear how to configure the events so that they are not intrusive.

2. Heartbeat-—NO HEARTBEAT Detection: Our endpoint has Sophos Endpoint, but it detected no heartbeat, so the solution to resolve it is to restart the firewall.
3. Central Management user account due to no function to integrate the LDAP Domain on Central Management policy the user account can only local user created and synchronize across the firewalls

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud synchronization, from our previous firewall: once we made some changes on the firewall we need to update it to all firewall but we do that in manual. in sophos it help us to imaplement in one to three clicks and then sync to all firewalls.

All the features it can offer, security, scalability, cloud management, mdm, price, everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
After having tried other solutions such as Fortinet, Sonicwall or Watchguard, the best one we have tried so far is Sophos and its universe of solutions.

The Sophos firewall is used to protect business networks through deep packet inspection and threat prevention. It controls internet access with web and application filtering. Enables the creation of secure VPNs for remote or inter-site access. Manages bandwidth and segments the network by users or areas. Integrates with other Sophos products for synchronised defence.
