A Robust Firewall Solution with Intuitive Management for IT Teams
What do you like best about the product?
The real-time dashboard, effective web filtering, and seamless integration with Sophos Endpoint make it easy to manage and secure our network. VPN setup is simple, and the reporting tools are great for monitoring and audits.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Sophos Firewall is feature-rich, some advanced settings can be buried deep in the menus, making initial configuration time-consuming. Firmware updates occasionally cause minor disruptions, and support response times could be faster during critical issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sophos Firewall is helping us secure our network from external threats, manage user access, and ensure safe web usage. Features like intrusion prevention, web filtering, and VPN have improved our overall security posture. It also simplifies centralized management across multiple sites, saving time and reducing the risk of human error.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and support from Sophos is some of the best we deal with. They have some of the best support both before and after the purchase of any companies we work with. Beyond that they provide a fantastic unified system that provides better insight then any other security solution that I've worked with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sophos systems can run a little heavy on computers and can cause slow downs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sophos provides an integrated reporting solution that helps us have a unified security front that is far stronger then any other solution I've seen.

The confidence I now have that my information is protected and that my online experience is secure puts my mind at ease while using the internet.

Sometimes needed emails are filtered and I have to log on to my online profile to release those emails.

On line breaches in security have been greatly reduced as well as viruses and malwear installations on our computers and server.

Catches almost all spam emails. Easy to release an email and allow a sender to email you in the future.

We've had it running now for 8 years or so, and it's been solid and simple the entire time.

The best thing about the firewall is that it simply works. I'm been bombproof for us for years and years.

There have been a few times when hardware went out of date or during software change over where's there's been a hiccup. Not a big deal but smoother transitions would be great if possible.

What do you like best about the product?
When an issue needs fixed, the support team are willing to go through the process of resolving an issue, meaning that the issue can be resolved by yourself should it arise again.
The account manager is always seeking feedback, and on one occasion my suggestion was actually implemented, making the process I was following much easier to apply.
The simple design of the UI means you aren't lost in dead end loop holes. Everything is easy to find which can be particularly helpful when dealing with an urgent issues.

What do you dislike about the product?
The data export functionality is limited, and some parts cannot be exported, meaning you need to setup an API query, which can be time consuming.
There is also sometimes an issue with the endpoint agent detecting being unable to detect users' permissions and this results in the policies defaulting to the base policy.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Routing traffic between multiple sites within the region, which was a big issue beforehand with our previous provider. However the support we have been given on this has been fantastic and we haven't had any issues.
Sophos XGS Firewall: reliable, good value for money, powerful
What do you like best about the product?
We've had very positive experiences with our Sophos XGS firewalls in terms of device reliability and performance. The integration of the firewalls with Sophos Central is also very useful, allowing a centralized overview and management alongside other products like Sophos Email Advanced, Sophos Wireless and Sophos MDR. Connecting our depot locations via OSPF/EthernetConnect/RED works flawlessly.

The migration from Sophos UTM to Sophos XGS Firewall is very time-consuming and not intuitive.
