Very Reliable, Secure, and easy to manage.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to manage all of our XG devices from the Sophos Central portal is amazing. I can log into all devices from one single pane of glass and run reports, check the logs, and make configuration changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had issues setting up high availability on all of our locations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can run reports on all of our locations without having to manage multiple logins. We are using InterceptX in tandem with our XGs and the collaboration between the 2 services is unmatched.
Security device that you can rely on
What do you like best about the product?
Sophos in depth ssl inspection which can scan encrypted ssl websites for viruses and malware. The product integrates with endpoints which can stop Lateral movement by isolating the device until the endpoint cleans itself and gets a green heart beat.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be slow navigating through the admin menu. This can Differ in model types such as a 115 can be slower than a 210.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Buisness now are protected from the perimeter of there network

What do you like best about the product?
VNP Tunneling, Web Filtering and especially they can create end user deployment for group policy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some firmware upgrade didn't accurate their some bugs and need to fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Looks like a easy for me to implement.

working on email protection, we were stuck to stop spam. but using XG firewall as a MX server providing us the best email protection.

The best product of Firewall in terms of protection from unknown threats and cloud governance.

Everything is automatically integrated into the portal and rules, networks and settings can be fully managed

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our need when discussing a new security solution was to achieve a three-point integration: edge security, endpoint protection, and an integrated VPN. The only brand that met these three goals according to our needs and possibilities was Sophos, and it did so with great success.

A SOPHOS firewall will monitor traffic in both directions. That is, both your incoming data and your outgoing data, keeping your private information safe. ... Although a SOPHOS firewall provides critical protection to keep your PC safe from unauthorized access

it cannot remove malware from a system that has already been infected.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how granular I can be with our Web policies to protect our users. I can easily use file type restrictions to prevent executable downloads and create a user portal for authorised users to approved downloads too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally firmware updates have been a little buggy upon release. It would be good practise to wait a month if the update is not critical.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can easily protect my users from online threats and protect traffic between my local networks. It gives me peace of mind know I can easily solve network problems should they arise.

Very simple user interface, with advanced features at your fingertips

moving from v17 to v18 has been a learning curve has functionality has moved and located in different areas.

ease of use and configuration, simple setup of ssl vpn clients & high availability

High-quality top-of-the-line protection
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy how they add a multitude of features without making you pay a "ransom's" worth of licensing costs. If you increase your bandwidth, the XG doesn't require you to pay an additional licensing fee. This is so rare in the industry these days.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only real thing I disliked was the original process of getting this equipment licensed. We already owned a previous smaller XG model, and we had to work with license support to get a temporary license while we waited for our older model's license to expire. Other than that it is excellent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to get ISP WAN load balancing, reduce bandwidth licensing costs, and add additional DDOS and other security features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sophos is a great company and really willing to work with you on discounts. I recommend starting early and negotiating with them to get the best deal upfront. Additionally, I recommend if you buy an XG to dump your other products that this can take the place of. Save yourself some money and use the XG to it's potential!

What do you like best about the product?
Sophos Virtual Appliance is best for the company having a Virtualized environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sophos XG with the previous version is not segregated as other firewalls. Like DNAT, Signature-based enhanced web filtering is not in the previous version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPAM filtering of our exchange server.
