Extremely Adaptable Data Pipelining Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I've managed software development projects for ETL tools and have used or evaluated a number of them. I've been continually impressed with the ease of use and tooling capabilities of CloverDX. Though CloverDX isn't a specialized tool for Healthcare, the ability of the out of box components along with the ability to extend its usage through custom Java components makes it a great tool for any data pipelining task.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really liked the fact that CloverETL was an open source product and that it had a community edition before that people could use to try it out. That option is unfortunately, no longer available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Healthcare data is extremely messy, and the points of integration can be difficult to manage. Our company had previously written custom scripts when implementing a particular customer. As we grew, this was not a very pragmatic approach and we needed a tool to help us manage these types of tasks in a systematic fashion. CloverDX allowed us to define these data flows easily and in a graphical fashion. The scheduling tool for CloverDX Server made it dead simple to deploy these graphs into a production environment. Overall, we couldn't be happier with the speed with which we could now deploy for our customers.

Very Effective ETL Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like that with only a small amount of investment in learning you can create some pretty powerful ETL Graphs. As you progress and learn more and more you can start to use more advanced features and programming, but if you don't want to invest a lot of time in a deep dive, you can still get a lot accomplished.
Once you do get proficient with the software, you can really simplify and speed up a lot of what was once manual work.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of an initial learning curve but it pretty quickly plateaus and then only gradually increases if you decided to do a deep dive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We received spreadsheets and CSVs from 100+ companies and we needed a way to automate the process of loading all this disparate data into our CRM (Salesforce). We also need to have processes run over night to clean existing data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a lot of ETL companies out there, and each one has pros and cons. Clover had a nice mix where it allowed for more advanced functions and custom java programming, but had a price point that was far less than other companies with similar levels of customization that we needed. There are also some community or open source offerings from Clover and other ETL companies that you should check out first so you can get a feel just using the bare bones features.
