    Management Consulting

SQL Interface with XML input

  • December 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Super helpful team that really made a difference in our customer journey.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a change in company policy that no longer allows for selling a single designer license. As a consequence, this can significantly increase the license fee.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Super functional solution to load on a controlled way my SQL database.
CTL2 programming language was also super easy to learn.

Clover is an easy tool to use and a lot of possibilities

  • June 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to affect/edit every record with the same/similar logic, transform the data, and then either load it to an application or send it as a report or valid json (which the system does for me).
What do you dislike about the product?
3 things:
1. Clover will freeze and Not respond as I am using the application
2. The error messages are most of the time but not always descriptive
3. I wish there was better documentation that is more business-like or not as technical. Even though most documentation is technical in a technical industry, I think it would give Clover a leg up against the competition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to send a valid payload to an API after the data has been transformed, retrieve possible options for a particular variable in the client DB, pull data from a DB and send a report to a valid distribution list, input excel file(s) which the client has updated and load the data to a central application to avoid having the client update every single field online, etc...

High performance pipeline

  • June 08, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Scalability through the cluster to increase performance.
Very detailed monitoring options to find bottlenecks.
The simplicity of building jobs / graphs via the Designer GUI.
Parallelism increasing throughput via various components.
Integration with MS SQL and other databases, supporting Query language.
Powerful CTL language for maximum customization.
Regular updates through new releases.
What do you dislike about the product?
Shifted mindset when working with metadata, especially in dynamic environments.
JAVA and all that is involved (i.e. complex configuration settings, compiler logs, debugging).
Missing support to access SAP ERP directly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Classic ETL approach involving data reading, manipulation and writing to a target database with high performance. Using the REST API to trigger automation from a web application directly without the need to interact with the Clover Server directly. Making use of event listeners for more automation inbetween different jobflows. Powerful script component helps with further customization and use of third-party tools (i.e. unzip, .xml conversion etc.)

  • May 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Concept of diagrams and features which makes development fast
What do you dislike about the product?
Price of solution. But I understand that the development and support of such a tool is expensive and the benefits of CloverDX are in ratio to price
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation of migration scripts, routine activities of Financial analysts. Benefits are time-saving and better data

  • November 13, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It does get the work done with the given components.
What do you dislike about the product?
The database connections used by each component or subgraph can be managed better. Too many database connections used by a graph.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ETL data processing. Getting the work done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use, great support option.

I have one year experience for using CloverDX for ETL purposes

  • August 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Different data format support. Very fast implementation and customization for ETL needs. Very suitable to test.
What do you dislike about the product?
Less flexible in comparison with traditional language (Like Python) especially if transformation rules become more complicated. Don't support some data types like list of list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use CloverDX for ETL purposes. The most important benefit which we have is veery fast implementation new pipelines for new purposes. Also the CloverServer is quite suitable for administration and job orchestration purposes.

Extremely Adaptable Data Pipelining Tool

  • April 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've managed software development projects for ETL tools and have used or evaluated a number of them. I've been continually impressed with the ease of use and tooling capabilities of CloverDX. Though CloverDX isn't a specialized tool for Healthcare, the ability of the out of box components along with the ability to extend its usage through custom Java components makes it a great tool for any data pipelining task.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really liked the fact that CloverETL was an open source product and that it had a community edition before that people could use to try it out. That option is unfortunately, no longer available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Healthcare data is extremely messy, and the points of integration can be difficult to manage. Our company had previously written custom scripts when implementing a particular customer. As we grew, this was not a very pragmatic approach and we needed a tool to help us manage these types of tasks in a systematic fashion. CloverDX allowed us to define these data flows easily and in a graphical fashion. The scheduling tool for CloverDX Server made it dead simple to deploy these graphs into a production environment. Overall, we couldn't be happier with the speed with which we could now deploy for our customers.

Very Effective ETL Tool

  • September 07, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that with only a small amount of investment in learning you can create some pretty powerful ETL Graphs. As you progress and learn more and more you can start to use more advanced features and programming, but if you don't want to invest a lot of time in a deep dive, you can still get a lot accomplished.

Once you do get proficient with the software, you can really simplify and speed up a lot of what was once manual work.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of an initial learning curve but it pretty quickly plateaus and then only gradually increases if you decided to do a deep dive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We received spreadsheets and CSVs from 100+ companies and we needed a way to automate the process of loading all this disparate data into our CRM (Salesforce). We also need to have processes run over night to clean existing data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a lot of ETL companies out there, and each one has pros and cons. Clover had a nice mix where it allowed for more advanced functions and custom java programming, but had a price point that was far less than other companies with similar levels of customization that we needed. There are also some community or open source offerings from Clover and other ETL companies that you should check out first so you can get a feel just using the bare bones features.
