What do you dislike about the product?
Using Cloud Manager to manage the Cloud Volumes can be somewhat difficult. It requires getting used to a new way of managing the volumes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Cloud Volumes for application NAS storage. This allows multiple servers in our AWS cloud to access the same storage volume. And by utilizing clones, the cloned volumes can be used for application testing without having to make a complete separate copy of the production data.
Excellent all in one monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
Cross platform integration with the most common software vendors including VMware
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a stand-alone product with a separate GUI from existing enterprise toolset
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Made it easier to manage the environment
Legacy app to cloud
What do you like best about the product?
A legacy application was dependent on enterprise class CIFS support. Cloud ONTAP enabled the application to be hosted at AWS w/o compromising CIFS support /w SnapMirror support for DR.
Per instance performance constraints were overcome by logically segregating shares across multiple instances. Enabled us to get the application in the Cloud with minimal changes from a bare metal data center to continue its evolution.
