Openshift has come a long way since 3.X. Opensift operators framework has make it much easier. The amount of 3rd party Openshift operators makes it easier to run your enterprise.

Some cystom operators, like cert manager have drawbacks or limitations compared to their community versions.

It offers a vast repository of images and tools tailored for deployment and application development. This rich ecosystem makes deployment and performance optimization much easier compared to our previous methods. Additionally, by opting for OpenShift, we gain access to comprehensive support from their expert team.
It streamlines our development and deployment processes through automation. From development to deployment, all processes are automated, providing efficiency and productivity gains. Developers can submit their changes for approval, and once approved, the deployment to production can proceed without requiring manual intervention. This streamlined workflow not only makes the process easier but also enhances productivity across the team.
The integration capabilities of OpenShift with other platforms and services have greatly enhanced our workflow. When you opt for OpenShift, whether through a subscription or by installing it on your servers, you gain access to a comprehensive support system provided by Red Hat. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously worked with Kubernetes cluster, but we switched to using OpenShift, as advised by our architect. This change is aimed at achieving greater scalability and stability for our product, as we've encountered challenges with our setup at the time.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was relatively straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
We manually installed the deployment three months ago, utilizing grid protection systems. I have been handling both development and production environments. In the development phase, I build deployments from scratch, while for production, I collaborate with another vendor. I manage all steps of installation and ensure smooth migration to the production environment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The cost is quite high. I would rate it eight out of ten.

What do you like best about the product?
Kubernetes is a nice solution for scaling up and down applications based on load. OpenShift is becoming more popular so other tools usually have a solution for using their tools with OpenShift. And OpenShift is built with security in mind to help make sure developers are doing the right thing.

Getting a new cluster created and installing new operators or upgrading operators on the clusters.

Easy to implement good ci/cd process and standards for our company. Helps us cut down on resources because we can easily scale applications down and back up

I believe the stronger part when compared to other orchestration platforms is the security and inbuilt security features which kind of distinguishes it from others
