Easy to use ELT tool for staging and transforming you data
What do you like best about the product?
Matillion makes it easy to drag and drop component and generate SQL statements to transform your data. There are lots of built in connectors so it is not too difficult to add new sources to your data warehouse.
The new performance monitor is great for checking on jobs across projects and understand how your server is performing.

What do you dislike about the product?
The way Matillion works with transformation job it can be easy to end up with very poor performing queries that need to be reworked.
There could be better logging, especially when using transaction control and updates are run sequentially instead of in parallel.
Better API access for pulling job history and average run times.
Git integraton is kind of clunky for larger teams

What do you like best about the product?
Matillion enables fast delivery of complex data pipeline. The interface makes it possible to create value without coding at all
What do you dislike about the product?
Matillion ETL VM , as it is pay per use, must be managed to be started and stopped to avoid cost when not needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matillion can be used to retrieve any data from pretty much any sources (database, files, Rest Apis...) in any format.

Capability to connect with all the top data warehouses like bigquery, redshift, etc.
The tool is developer friendly, it also provides the capabilities to use python runtime, http end points etc.

Re usability of template is a bit challenging. I tried to create a data quality reusable template, but it requires a lot of efforts to make it right.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complete data integration in gcp is done via Matillion. Reading from gcs to writing to big query and applying transformations.

The canned 3rd party integrations are handy.

The Github integrations is not very feasible or easy.
We've moved to Github directly, and then use a Python component to read in and execute our ETL scripts stored on Github.
There is a weird redirect every time I sign in that makes me have to load the page twice.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running ETL jobs fairly reliably. It transforms and loads data into Redshift which is how we run our business.
We also have predictive models now running each day through Matillion.

What do you like best about the product?
It's point in click interface and host of component s that can connect to third-party services makes it very easy for more junior analysts to get involved in ETL workloads.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because of the point and click interface, it lacks flexibility that other more code heavy solutions offer.

It has really helped bring together disparate data sets and transformed all under one roof that can feed our business intelligent solutions.

The speed of development, user-friendly UI, and the extensive options available for importing data.

A few more options for exporting data. A more user-friendly way to pull raw data from APIs directly.

Most of our ETL processes are simplified by Matillion. It does make the process of improving and changing ETL much faster.

The users only need to know SQL to start working on Matillion, all the other technical things that demand other skill, Matillion got your back easily

The poor documentation or examples about Query profiles. I think more examples to understan RSD file will be great to use it

While it's easy to use, it requires some for of training before new users can understand and she it effectively

We use it for cloud data integration and it has so far worked seamlessly. I have zero complaints about the product
