What do you dislike about the product?
it is hard to find the right person responsible for a certain topic (if you do not know the person, yet)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tax determination for indirect taxes - benefit for us is, to standardize processes across division and have one way of determining taxes across the group. Implementation of a tax engine fosters process standardization.

What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
The invoicing process has been problematic, as the address data on the invoices was incorrect for 12 months. Additionally, it took nine months to resolve issues related to productive outages. It was only after this lengthy period that it was discovered the problem was due to excessive CPU consumption. it is hard to impossible for the support to get the right people from the 3rd or 4th level support.

Reliable Tax Access, But Q Series Lacks User-Friendliness
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to access the jurisdictions that I need in a pinch and making sure that our tax codes and rates are spot on. It really helps when we are in a pinch. I'm looking forward to upgrading to Vertex O Series in the near future.
What do you dislike about the product?
The current series Q is not as user friendly as I would like and it doesn't have all of the tools that are available in the Vertex O series

Q series is antiquated
Good products, but need improvements
What do you like best about the product?
Vertex works great for US and CA SUT/GST/HST tax calculations. I like the customizability with the Tax Assist Rules. I like that they offer multiple products
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if the Vertex products had a direct connection between the different products, ie. O Series ON Demand to VAT Compliance / VITR / Express Returns, etc. The UI on Vertex O tends to change without notice. With Service Releases/updates, functionality that was working is no longer working. The documentation for all products could be more robust. Additional matrices for all Imposition Types and Recoverability is greatly needed. Better documentation on how certain tax types/impositions work with the ERP would be great. We need quicker resolution of tickets. Tickets take way too long to be resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vertex is helping us standardize and automate our SUT/GST/VAT calculations and reduce the processing time for our VAT Returns process.

What do you like best about the product?
Upgrading opportunities. The ease of use of our current version. The customer support is always top tier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The manual manipulations in our current series.

Through the ability to upgrade, Vertex has solved a lot of our reporting issues. This helps our company stay in compliance.
User-Friendly and Informative, But Lookup Tables Need Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Vertex is super user-friendly and easy to train with for new employees. There is a great range of technical research material that works for everyone from beginners to advanced users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the materials like taxability matrix or other tables can be easier to find.

Vertex exists as our primary sales tax engine
Seamless Integration Boosts Efficiency, but Separate Licensing Adds Cost Challenges
What do you like best about the product?
Very in depth and integrated products. Cross functionality between tax engine and ERP system is a vast improvement from prior products used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have to license products separately creates challenges with cost to upper management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gaps in transaction processing for procurement and exemption certificate management.
Accurate and Up-to-Date, But UI and Reporting Need Improvement

Accuracy of tax calculation and keeping the content upto date.
What do you dislike about the product?
Application UI restrictions in allowing custom logic and accessing logs. Reporting is pain.

Vertex is used for tax calculation across all products globally. With Vertex accuracy, we are confident that tax rate is correct.
Excellent Tax Solutions, Though Support Can Be Challenging
What do you like best about the product?
Vertex provides excellent software and services that support the indirect tax needs of our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times the support process can be challenging, requiring multiple follow up interactions. The nature of support is that there is a need and we want our questions answered as quickly and with the least amount of effort.

Vertex provides a solution for various fees and provided ongoing content to make assessing those easy for our organization
