Rock-Solid Performance and Advanced Features in a Purpose-Built Load Balancer
What do you like best about the product?
Love its rock‑solid reliability and performance, powerful L4/L7 features, precise configuration control, excellent observability, and security capabilities like TLS termination and rate limiting—all in a focused, purpose‑built load balancer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuration syntax can be steep initially, complex rulesets get hard to reason about, no built‑in WAF or API gateway layer, and advanced features demand deep expertise to operate safely and confidently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HAProxy solves scalability, availability, and traffic control by load balancing across instances, handling health checks, TLS, and routing logic centrally, which simplifies operations, reduces downtime risk, and improves latency and resilience.

Blistering Performance and Precision at Scale
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about HAProxy is its blistering performance combined with surgical precision. It consistently delivers sub-millisecond latency even under millions of concurrent connections, thanks to its event-driven, single-process architecture that squeezes every cycle out of modern CPUs.
What do you dislike about the product?
HAProxy’s config syntax is cryptic and unforgiving—one misplaced space breaks everything. No native HTTP/3 support yet, weak built-in metrics (need exporters), and dynamic config reloads still risk brief connection drops. Steep learning curve for advanced features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HAProxy solves my biggest headaches:
• Single-digit microsecond forwarding + TLS termination at millions of RPS — my apps stay fast without burning CPU.
• Zero-code traffic splitting — I A/B test, canary, blue-green, or route by header/region/cookie instantly via ACLs.
• Rock-solid resilience — aggressive health checks + seamless failover keep 99.99% uptime even when backends die.
