My experience with octopus deploy
What do you like best about the product?
With octopus deploy you can manage your distributed target with custom script and a lot of personalization about variables, variables set and so fort.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the UI, and the access control list management. Is very difficult to have two octopus installation synchronized and the API is not robust,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my company, with octopus I managed a lot of environments with different customization (online - offline - hybrid solution) and with octopus deploy all make simple.

What do you like best about the product?
Octopus deploy can install the build result on customers' servers, even with complex scripts. It manages the versions of the scripts and manages the variables for ogmi environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The variables cannot be exported from one project to another. Scipts and step templates are versioned but it is not possible to load an old version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we use Octopus deploy to install our software on our customers' servers in a fully automated manner.
excellent software to automate even the most complex deployment processes
What do you like best about the product?
octopus deploy is able to distribute the software on multiple types of platforms, using simple complex deployment scripts.
What do you dislike about the product?
the variables, and the deployment scripts are not versioned. it would be good to do it, in our case octopus contains parishes lines of code and it is important to keep it. furthermore the variables cannot be exported in a simple way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
with octopus we were able to distribute the software of a complex and very varied platform in a few minutes, before octopus it took hours to get the same result

not really cheap but really a great product

Easy to automate deploy for different environment, quick and flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
Choosing which steps to exclude, which environments or targets to deploy to, etc., is not immediately clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manage deploy for all customer worldwide.
Great organization and technology
What do you like best about the product?
octopus makes it easy to control your deployment pipelines and organize transformations and other relevant information
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit clunky and the on premises implementation leave something to be desired.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using octopus to deploy our internal systems within our on site servers. The variable management is very useful and has helped us more efficiently set up new deployment pipelines.
Deployment Tool
What do you like best about the product?
By using this we can easily done deployment of any new version of our required interfaces. It's make our task very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
As such there is no issues with me and my team but few times it will become overloaded and shows wrong version details for few hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before that we have to deploy our new interface versions manually which is very hectic but with the help of this tool we can eaisly done deployment with in a window of few minutes to few hours.
Amazing release software
What do you like best about the product?
Where this product stands out for me is with its use of variables and the ability to implement logic here rather than having to code the logic in the IaC/App. Also the amount of tasks available both natively and via the community allowed me to do everything I waned to achieve.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. I have used Azure DevOps which is great due to it having all the tooling required for DevOps deployments, but Octopus has really mastered the release side. Working with both in combination is a great solution and the intervention between the both is fantastic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Green field DevOps project, Octopus Deploy was selected as its the leader in release software. By utilising this software we were able to configure complete end to end fully automated infrastructure and application deployment.

What do you like best about the product?
It works with every situation. There is an amazing support team which is always ready to help and has never let me down. The UI is fast, simple, and comprehensive.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I could point out one dislike, it would simply be the lack of a dark theme.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Continuous Integration and Automated Deployments to Azure. All of our Environments are easy to deploy to in the same way with the same settings with a couple of mouse clicks.
Octopus Deploy is a really great software tool to help automate your deployment pipelines
What do you like best about the product?
Octopus is really easy to install in your infrastructure or find a cloud offer. After that you can really easily setup a deployment pipeline. If you need to deploy something specific just look through all the plugins or the community plugins to find what you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot come up with something i really dislike. The software is good and easy to use. The only thing I can mention is that using a proxy is not really transparent while creating deployment steps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deploying software was done by hand and took a lot of time. Furthermore it was also a root cause for many problems. Automating the whole deployment with Octopus Deploy took care of both problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take some time to learn the product, and then create beautiful roll out steps for every piece of software you have. It makes life so much easier.

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and highly customizable to fit your needs to deploy binaries and scripts
What do you dislike about the product?
Some times it gets scratchy and becomes slow and have to wait some time until other queued apps are deployed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy deployments and fast it removes dependency on multiple teams like operations
