Heap is a good tool for website click and event analytics.

What do you like best about the product?
Heap has an easy-to-create report process. It guides through with good options for segmenting, filtering, to quickly retrieve data/visualize.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be slow and there are not enough grouping slots (max 4).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
heap is making the UI more intuitive, adding more suggested reports, and has a great visualizer because we can't always take the time to import event data.

Intuitive Insight Builder

What do you like best about the product?
Heaps visualizations and query builder are extremely clear and easy to understand. As a sem--technical user, I'm able to get the insights I need to do my job as a product manager.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've used Heap on products where we could use their "tagless" experience and ones where we had to add their tags to the code. The tagless is super nice, so I wish you could always use that regardless of your tech stack.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a product manager, it is helping me make product decisions based on user behavior and data.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to customize for data needed
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a challenge to export data usably.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is solving the need to understand what users are doing on our site and tracks it consistently to provide comparable data for analysis. It is also easy to create dashboards based on what we need and change them as our needs change.

Heap help uncover incredible insight that we had no access to before

What do you like best about the product?
I like the dashboard and reporting features - it allows me to easily revisit analysis and adjust the parameters
I also appreciate how easy it is to set up new tracking and reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
I did feel a little bit overwhelmed with all the options and tracking potential. I think I may have needed to spend some more time on the training materials.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping us understand our user behavior much better. As a product manager, I'm able to glean insights that help me better define the user needs and prioritize the solutions.

Easy to use, well-integrated with other tools, and has a lot of capabilities

What do you like best about the product?
Heap is pretty easy to use: I find it easy to tag new features, export data to my data warehouse, build new reports and push data to other systems. Their report tools are straightforward and answer a lot of common questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't see how well data pushed from other sources (i.e. Salesforce) exists in Heap, and I often get different answers to questions than what I would get if scripting analysis in my data warehouse. My workaround is simply to push data from Heap to my warehouse and do analysis there, which works for me. I don't really expect Heap to be that much of an analytics tool across sources as much as I do a tool to understand what happens in our app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What people click on, what sequence of steps they follow, and how to segment customers and pass those segments to Appcues. We have been able to advance our PLG capabilities thanks to Heap.

Powerful quantitative usage analytics tool

  • July 19, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to analyze and create usage reports with simple queries. I also love the visual labeling feature. I like the recent chart templates feature as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The event pop-up while using the visual labeling feature is not clear. Also, I would love to see a feature where Heap can allow me to flag a UI component irrespective of how the HTML code is written so that product designers and managers can use Heap to analyze the usage of any component on the page, even if two components have the same CSS/HTML selectors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our company, we have tools and mechanisms that give us qualitative insights into product usage, but Heap is the only primary tool we use for any kind of quantitative analysis. It helps us truly measure usage and allows us to set clear goals and track against them.

Great analytics tool!

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up events on any front-end attribute, directly from the interface, with little to no help from a developer. You can quickly name all events and create funnels to visualize how users are using your product.
It has allowed me to become a more independent product manager.
What do you dislike about the product?
Heap has a steep learning curve. It requires a few training sessions and some practice to understand it, but once you understand how it works, it is an extremely powerful tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this to aid in discovery work as well as tracking the success of new features. It has also been helpful to analyze general engagement across our entire platform and has provided additional insights for experiments.

What do you like best about the product?
Heap is very intuitive and easy to use. I required very little assistance getting comfortable as a new user. The event visualizer is a great tool that makes it very simple to tag events.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I have used Heap lightly for account- and user-level analytics and do not have any complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding customer behaviour and usage patterns

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is for the dev teams to integrate Heap Analytics into our product flow
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislike the lack of self-service to the product. I find i need to ask colleagues how to use the platform as it's not the most intuitive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap give us good insights into how our customers are using our products and allows us to dial in to problem areas

Heap is an excellent data analysis and tracking tool

  • July 19, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Heap will capture all of the events on your application even before you've had a chance to tag & categorize them. The options for tagging events are quite robust, and the analysis tools that tagged events enable are very strong and flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a lot of manual work that has to be done before using Heap for analysis becomes valuable. Events need to be tagged, user groups need to be set up, and paths need to be defined.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is wonderful as a tool for verifying hypotheses. As a designer, if I'm wondering whether a certain button or action is being used, I can simply jump into Heap and check the use of that button against my expectations and against other similar calls to action in the app.
