Heap: User Friendly Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite tool that Heap offers so fair is the Event Visualizer to easily define events right from your UI.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have to re-select "Navigate Page" after every click when in the Event Visualizer. The default should be "Navigate Page" and users should have to click "Define Event" when they reach the desired page. I work with an online platform that has a plethora of steps before getting to the event I am trying to define.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy access to data surrounding feature utilization without requiring hefty knowledge of SQL and other analytics.

Heap data is useful
What do you like best about the product?
easy to use and helpful with analytics. i found it useful because it helps us make decisions on our funnel

at first, it can seem overwhelming with all the options. it takes some time to navigate and understand how to use the program

helps with funnel optimization and other aspects of using data to be more effective
As a user, it is quick and easy to use

I like the different dashboards and the ability to click in to view more.

Could be more vibrant in color and have better insights. I'd like a better way to drill into the data

The dashboards are great for setting up a quick view of the status of our pipeline.

It's a fairly technical tool, so our dev team mostly runs it but we can still utilize it.

We're using heap to track user acquisition, activation, and retention. The insights gleaned from the tool help us align the team on priorities.
Great analytics tool for small teams
What do you like best about the product?
The autocapture feature is amazing. Being a small team it is great to have a tool which gives you out of the box analytics capability without much dev effort. Has great documentation as well

We need to pay for heap to save historical data. It adds up to the cost for a small organization
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is giving us the ability to be more data driven in our approach. We now understand our user journey better and are working towards removing friction points
Good analytics platform for studying app usage.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to create reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the information hierarchy in the UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives us the insight we need to justify project decisions when planning our sprints. It also allows us to communicate our reasoning to stakeholders with real data.
Has been meeting our needs
What do you like best about the product?
I've really liked using the event dashboards to track our event conversions/success of various aspects of our platform. It's also very helpful as we launch new features to see what's working and what's not. It's been pairing pretty well with segment so far as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not always the easiest for a non-dev/non-tech team member to navigate and use, although there are certainly aspects that make doing so far easier than other analytics platforms we're used in the past (e.g., MixPanel, Amplitude, etc.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap is helping us keep track of our KPIs, feature adoption/success, monitoring any bugs that crop up, etc. This means that we're able to make better business decisions, faster.
Powerful, user-friendly upgrade to the popular free alternative
What do you like best about the product?
The dashboard is easy to use, especially for non-engineers, and has powerful features like funnel analysis and the ability to set up dynamic event properties that can transform the raw properties sent by the SDK.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the auto-capture SDK works well for the web, support for modern native apps is still lacking. SwiftUI support is supposedly coming any day now but I'm not sure support for Compose is even on the roadmap yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap allows product stakeholders to answer a lot of their questions directly in the dashboard, without the help of engineers setting up thousands of custom events and properties. My new response is often "there's a report for that".
Heap has been really useful for gathering product data! It's not perfect but still great.

Being able to customize many dashboards

The charts are sometimes hard to read if there is a lot of data, and there are limits to how many data points you can include in a single chart.

In the websites and projects I work on, I need to know how users and customers engage with them. This helps me understand how I can improve the product.
