Tracks without me needing to & much easier than GA/GTM

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's always tracking css-targeted clicks, even if I haven't defined actions yet. I like that it makes it really easy to create graphs, as a developer to show this to my Product Owner blew her away because I was able to show that a feature we added was only being used 25% of the time and we needed to make a change to get people using it - HEAP MAKES ME LOOK GOOD!
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it hard to work out where to go in the menu bar at the left. I mainly use reports, and define new actions. I get mixed up as to which primary menu item will show me my sub menu item.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use heap predominantly to work out how users ended up at an error page. I.e what steps they took so we can fix the bug.
I have used heap to track if a feature was a success or not. (Tracking user adoption)
I've used heap to prove that users found our menu items confusing because they were clicking between tabs to work out what was wrong.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out, it will be doing more for you than you realise from the moment you install it in your app.

Heap frees engineering and data to focus on building product and understanding data

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Retroactive event definition has eliminated expensive explicit tracking plans and ugly event tracking code sprinkled through the app.

Heap's analysis web tools are great for 80% of our scenarios, and for the rest there is Heap Connect.
What do you dislike about the product?
For our modern web apps (e.g. react-based apps), Heap implicit tracking through DOM changes doesn't work by itself -- we still need engineering to add attributes to elements, and enforce that URLs are updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We better understand how customers are using our apps (what is engaging vs not, what in the funnel is broken). We better understand who are customers are (devices they use, UTM origins, etc).

More of the company can access this data through Heap's UI and through our other dashboards (via Heap Connect). Engineers and Product Managers, not just data scientists, can log in and explore the data themselves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider your needs holistically -- how much web vs native, how much traffic are you expecting, what is your current tracking solution? A hybrid between explicit tracking via solutions like Snowplow and Heap could be appropriate.

Game changing data insights into your company's platform

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to evaluate effectiveness of new features has been critical to addressing any issues that may arise that also might affect our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a bit more functionality to track certain features across our web and mobile app without having to create different definitions in Heap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We recently launched a new authentication process and many users were having issues. We have been able to see where users are getting stuck and track progress we have made in remedying this issue. It has been a game changer!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would make sure to install it sooner rather than later so you can start tracking your product analytics!

    Real Estate

Makes me a more independent product manager

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Being able to define events on my own
- The fact that events are retroactive
What do you dislike about the product?
- It could definitely be easier to define an event
- It's unclear what it takes to enable an independent engineering team to add attributes to cut by
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Feature adoption
- Feature conversion
- Feature research -- who's using what? who should I contact?
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the support team, they are great!

Heap works!

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great interface. Easy access to data. Helpful training.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to navigate to saved pulls sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great way to make data more accessible through easy user interface.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to demo it as much as possible and see if you feel that creating charts is intuitive. I felt that it was a bit of a learning curve.

Heap offers superior event-based data from digital experiences

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the event and user focus of the analytics. It makes more sense to look at journeys rather than simply metrics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am often asked by my customers for "time spent on" metrics, so if those could be incorporated that would be very helpful. Also, if we had different formats for export and sending reports via email where the visualizations are better for those not as data literate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am getting a better picture of how users travel through our website and use our digital products. I have begun to identify what events precede customer churn and insert interventions to try and retain the customers.

Thank you Heap!

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the views, I love how you can easily swap out the channel to assess growth in different areas. I also love that Heap easily lets you filter between different
UTM sources, different channels, and different creative terms. Heap is able to display the data in multiple forms. I love being able to toggle between the graph, chart, and table views. Something else that's super helpful about Heap is that you can easily view data in different windows of time. You can set your look back window to 7 days, 30 days or choose your own custom window. Heap makes it really easy to share reports between team members and save reports for team members to reference later on.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit of a steep learning curve, it isn't as user-friendly as I hoped. Because it took me a little while to get a good handle on Heap I wish there were more tutorials or maybe even a chat function where I could speak to a representative about a problem that I'm having and they would be able to help me. I have contacted Heap via email before when I was having a problem and needed further assistance and while they were really helpful it would've been great if I could've gotten a more immediate answer. Something about Heap that could definitely be improved is the loading speed. I feel like Heap occasionally crashes or takes a really long time to load. Faster loading speeds would be great for getting access to data more quickly and to be able to make business decisions in real time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to see metrics in real time and make business decisions quickly and efficently based on Heap data. The beneifits that I've realized with Heap is that I can marry Shopify data directly with Heap so I can see revenue metrics and assess the performance of each place in our marketing funnel. I'm able to solve problems like garnering data that I wasn't able to tap into in other places and really get to the root of performance in each of our channels.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Heap is so helpful to assess data quickly and easily. It has supported me in so many business decisions and I'm grateful to have it at my fingertips!

Valuable platform for analyzing user data and trends

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility to view and analyze data in a variety of ways/dimensions
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup is a bit time consuming
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better predictive analytics of our customers
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take it for a test drive

    Consumer Electronics

Better than Heap & Mixpanel

  • October 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Combines the powers of HotJar and Heap into a single tool. It's much better at identifying users from sessions out of the box than either Heap or Mixpanel. We moved our survey from Iterable and into Auryc and increased the response rate by 800%
What do you dislike about the product?
The usability of existing features could be improved. I would like to see them build on the qualitative analysis side of things, as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking conversions, running intercept surveys, debugging issues with the user experience.

Raving fans at Cox Automotive

  • October 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Auryc has been invaluable for our Research and Analytics team here at Cox Automotive. We've historically run a lot of analyses and A/B tests to quantify the "what" of user behavior and Auryc has really allowed us to begin to understand the "why" component that we had been missing.

The customer service with Auryc has been top-notch. Amod and team have always been there to demonstrate Auryc's capabilities or to run educational sessions. This has really allowed our Research & Analytics team to maximize the value we're getting out of this tool. The Auryc team has also flagged issues within our Google Analytics implementation that we did not know about.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would appreciate more permission flexibility, more of an emphasis on bookmarks within the UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned above, we've historically run a lot of analyses and A/B tests to quantify the "what" of user behavior and Auryc has really allowed us to begin to understand the "why" component that we had been missing. We've also been able to run cross-product A/B tests that historically have not been possible due to Google Analytics tracking limitations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For session recording software, I really think Auryc outperforms the competition. Their customer service ensures your implementation and data collection is accurate and they bring up insights and issues our Research & Analytics team hadn't considered.
