Digital signatures have transformed approvals and now speed up project automation rollouts
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Dropbox Sign is that after every project completion, I need a digital signature so that the automation is approved. I simply send the SOPs or the documents for signatures, and then I track the status.
A quick specific example of a document I send for signatures is an invoice generation, which is an automation for which I need a signed digital signature. I have sent it to get a signature and signed permission from the higher-ups, and after which I rolled this feature out.
What is most valuable?
The best features Dropbox Sign offers include a very clean and easy-to-use interface, which is smooth even for non-technical users. I appreciate the ability to create reusable templates, which saves me time and effort instead of creating repetitive documents. Additionally, Dropbox Sign's integration with Dropbox's own cloud storage makes it easier and more convenient for storing these documents. Tracking is also one of the best features, allowing me to keep track of all the agreements and documents that are signed digitally.
Dropbox Sign has positively impacted my organization by allowing me to ask for approvals digitally after project completion. Previously, I would ask my manager for approvals, leading to delays as managers have to ask higher-ups. Now, it is digitally managed, and the biggest benefit is that I can track the flow of whether my request is signed or not, which enables me to start the rollout of automation instantly once it is signed.
This tracking and digital process have led to measurable improvements in saving time and reducing delays. Before using Dropbox Sign, it normally took me the first two weeks for the preparation of automations, and the next week was dedicated to getting approvals. Sometimes the higher-ups would be busy, leading to delays. Now, it is two weeks for building automation, and thanks to Dropbox Sign, I get the documents signed in one to two days maximum, which means I can roll out my automation in the third week instead of waiting weeks. I save approximately one week of time after every automation is done.
What needs improvement?
Regarding improvements for Dropbox Sign, I feel it is quite user-friendly, but sometimes I would appreciate it to be even simpler with additional workarounds. For example, I wish Dropbox Sign could integrate with my workflow tools through APIs so that signing processes could be triggered automatically within larger systems, allowing Dropbox Sign to send requests immediately after every automation is complete.
For how long have I used the solution?
In my current field, I have been working for around 1.2 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Dropbox Sign is quite stable. I have not encountered any issues in the six or seven months I have been using it.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability of Dropbox Sign is pretty good; I transitioned from the free plan to a paid plan, and I believe scalability is advantageous for it.
How are customer service and support?
Customer support for Dropbox Sign is good. Although I have not directly contacted them, I conduct thorough research on platforms before choosing. I checked reviews on Reddit and other platforms, which were positive, leading me to believe that customer support is also reliable.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used DocuSign, which offers similar functionality, but I find DocuSign to be more enterprise-focused, while Dropbox Sign suits my individual workflow around the organization better. I prefer Dropbox Sign because it saves me more time, and it integrates with Dropbox's own cloud storage, simplifying my document management.
How was the initial setup?
My experience with pricing and setup costs has been positive; compared to others, pricing was a key factor for me to use Dropbox Sign, and it is also very handy in the free version.
What about the implementation team?
I have seen a return on investment with Dropbox Sign. We are on the fifteen dollar a month plan, which is for individuals, but it provides unlimited signatures, which is great. The free version was useful for initial testing, providing limited signature requests, but once everyone got accustomed to the digital signature approach, we decided to move on to the paid plan for peace of mind in case we needed to expand our use.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Dropbox Sign, I evaluated DocuSign, which I had used. While they are similar, DocuSign is more enterprise-focused, and I prefer Dropbox Sign for its usability and integration with its own cloud storage. Everything being under one platform simplifies my workflow significantly.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to others looking to use Dropbox Sign is that it is pretty easy; try the free plan first. While it offers limited usage per month, it is a good way to test it out before shifting to a more extensive plan. Make sure you turn on notifications and check after documents have been signed.
Besides this, I think it would be beneficial if Dropbox Sign offered more signatures in the free plan. I understand the business aspect of it, but for my needs, I would rarely need ten or twelve signatures in a month, and having that in the free plan would be helpful. I would rate this product a nine out of ten.
