Assist with 3rd Party Vendor Oversight
Detailed Platform
What do you like best about the product?
BitSight representatives provided an excellent level of service through the onboarding process. Any questions our team had were answered clearly. The platform itself is straightforward to navigate. As far as the features of the tool, there are many capabilities for accessing security performance and risk. We are confident that BitSight Security's capabilities will be crucial to our organization's security program.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time, there is nothing that is disliked about the tool. However, just like any new tool, we understand that BitSight Security has a learning curve to the platform. This will be easily accomplished over time, especially with the support of the BitSight team and the BitSight Academy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BitSight Security Ratings solves the problems of addressing security concerns and risks from not only an internal perspective but also from the vendors our organization works with. The platform also helps from a vendor management risk standpoint.
Informative, detailed and tailored to our needs.
What do you like best about the product?
The meetings and the ability to incorporate what makes the most sense to us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that I could think of at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is giving my team insight into how we are doing as a company, and in comparison to our competition.
Implementation review
What do you like best about the product?
These ratings give us ample information on not only public assets but also provide excellent remediation info.
What do you dislike about the product?
I put notes in a finding, and the notes are no longer there. I am also unable to assign findings due to the package we purchased, but I'd like to see this feature for all packages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BitSight will help us keep an eye on our public-facing assets and quickly know the severity and remediation plan. All combined will allow us to be industry leaders.
An amazing platform.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of navigation and its accuracy is off the charts. The more I use Bitsight, the more I've learned to trust it. Some of our vendors have been absolutely amazed at my visibility into the inner working of their enterprise - thanks to Bitsight.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing. I don't know what we're paying to use the platform, but I assume it must be pricey (because of the number of licenses we have). To build the risk environment/ecosystem that I envision, it's going to require more licenses because we have a ton of vendors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem that BitSight solves is it eliminates blind-trust relationships with vendors. Vendors can tell us anything, but because of BitSight, we have the ability to validate what we're being told. That's not the only thing though, I love the continuous monitoring aspects of BitSight. One of our vendors was hit by a ransomware attack, and BitSight let us know about it 4 - 5 days before the vendor did.
It helps you in maintain your network security and tighten the network.
What do you like best about the product?
Getting alerts, and daily reports as per schedule.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reflecting score back after mitigation takes time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
security issues, and helping to solve it.
Very useful tool
What do you like best about the product?
We have found BitSight to be an extremely useful tool to quantify our current security strength and track improvement. The score produced by BitSight (from a ton of data) provides a quick and easy way to understand security strength and benchmark against industry peers.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be useful if BitSight provided the ability to add extra domains / URL's associated with our company to the tool for scanning. At the moment we have to rely on it reporting on what it can find - which can be a little out of date when adding new web facing sites to our portfolio.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to quantify and track our security rating. Ability to benchmark against industry peers. Gain valuable insights on specific areas which require remediation.
Great product that provides excellent and quality intel
What do you like best about the product?
Quality details and insights into public companies. Ability to gather reports for each company's security posture, including potential incidents.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI can be a bit challenging to navigate. The folders feature could be great but it feels clunky and hard to navigate at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to assess and review third-parties before being onboarded and then able to monitor and alert based on changes in security posture.
Get a better view of your 3rd Party Risk
What do you like best about the product?
BitSight utilizes public sourced information to consolidate and rate a company's cybersecurity posture. This information together can give you some insight on a companies culture of security and how much of a risk you would be taking with them or that you may already have. You can also set up alerts to tell you if something changes so you can be quick to react and address the issue with the vendor (or your own company). Much like a bank would lend a person money based on their past history, BitSight gives some level of confidence (or lack thereof) in a company based on what they do in their own environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price scale is a little steep and seems to be directed at very large businesses with massive budgets (of course even then most companies don't want to spend money they don't need to). The good part is you have an unlimited ability to swap companies in and out of your monitoring, which although cumbersome can offset that and get you the information you most definitely need. This doesn't help know if there are vulnerabilities in software or applications you may be using, but does correlate the culture the business is showing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing 3rd party risk and being able to collaborate with vendors to address them and hopefully encourage better cybersecurity culture. It also allows us to do a little bit of vetting of the company to see what rating they have before we use them.
