My experience on Udacity platform.

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the approach the teachers take throughout the course to explain certain concepts with the help of examples. I also like the reviewing system provided in the nanodegree which helps to complete project efficiently.I have even got a discount after completing this review.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major issue with all the nanodegree is it's cost. Most of nanodegrees are very expensive and are unaffordable and there is no help given from Udacity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently Udacity nanodegrees helped me gain certain exposure in the field of AI and neural networks. These nanodegrees have helped in understanding the concepts better
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good platform to learn and gain practical knowledge on industry level concepts.

Great AI with Python course

  • June 28, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
The course was challenging, but easy enough to do that I got it done early. Loved the depth and how they made what could have been complex much easier to understand. Great instructors, great projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times I wish the mentors were able to respond quicker. I know they have lives and are not on 24/7, but most of the time I just struggled through spots and figured them out before they could get back to me and help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been in the translation industry for 35 years and I want to do some things with machine learning that haven't been done yet. I just needed the foundation that Udacity gave me to help me realize my ideas.

What do you like best about the product?
The best and most helpful feature about Udacity is the Code Review. Their reviewers are competent and really motivating.
Also, the content is the best, since it has been creates with engineers from the particular field of each nanodegree.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, expensive to me, but worth the money.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have gained confidence and have been promoted. My salary has almost doubled in one year thanks to Udacity.

Great Content with Projects and Mentorship Support

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The projects and the mentorship support. In 2017, I disliked how even after paying so much money I was removed from the course for not completing the program on time. Later in 2018, I purchased the nanodegree again since I knew the importance of content as well as industry projects (hands-on) which Udacity provides. This time there was a mentor who used to push me and I literally will use that word for making me complete the project on time and at the same time clearing my doubts. The content for Data Analytics Nanodegreee is super exhaustive - covers everything in detail ! A lot has changed since then and it's getting better for students!
What do you dislike about the product?
Earlier I purchased the nanodegree way back in 2017 but I couldn't complete it. I was removed from the program for not completing all the projects before the hard deadline. Though, I was provided extension, I couldn't complete all the projects. The cost of the nanodegree is too expensive and there's no way refund will be provided if you cannot complete the same as per the policy. But now in 2019, I guess for each nanodegree, they have a dedicated mentor who will make sure that you understand the concepts as well as complete the nanodegree on/before time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The industry projects are something which attracts me to Udacity platform. I am planning to take up more nanodegrees specially in the field of data. Currently, enrolled in the Data Engineer Nanodegree.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should definitely look for the courses in the area you want to build your career. Udacity has lot of courses. I specially liked the Data Analytics, Data Engineer (covers cloud AWS), Data Visualisation the most. Planning to take up Cloud courses in future, although I did cover much of AWS in data engineer program.

One of the best places to start your learning experience

What do you like best about the product?
Udacity offers a wide range of courses (mainly in Computer Science). If you are looking to start your journey in Computer Science or progress from your current level, Udacity offers a ton of options.

Their nano degrees are in-depth and offer good quality content to get you started. The courses have been designed really well and classes were taught in a clear and concise manner.

The videos were divided into smaller chunks, I personally prefer this over long video formats(1+hr), as this keeps your brain fresh and attentive. Each video usually is followed by a small quiz to reinforce the concept.

Finally, projects are challenging and makes you work hard. But there is always help available when you get stuck. Community is very good, as I always got good response to my questions. In general, I had lots of fun doing projects and learnt a ton.

After project submission, it goes through a code review and it is here I learnt what a code review means. At first I couldn't understand why mu code was asked to be changed when it was working perfectly. Later I realized it was not just about making code work but make it work efficiently.

Code review taught me a lot about how to code properly, concepts of clean code etc. This probably was the most useful phase of the course :)

Disclosure: I received a discount on my next purchase of a Nanodegree program for writing this review
What do you dislike about the product?
Price can definitely be a big deterrent as nano degrees tend to cost a lot of money.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I learnt Python and JavaScript at Udacity and I am currently using them at work and has greatly benefited me in taking on coding projects at work
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Udacity definitely is one of the best elearning contents out there. The course are well designed and built. It's taught by very good instructors and overall support is very good.

I personally enjoyed completing one of the nano degress and I personally recommend people to try their nano degrees, as its both challenging and fulfilling

First Nanodegree I've studied Really Cool, Amazing Experience

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Good Quality Videos.
The coach was encouraging me all the time.
Fell more confidence now. I think the quality of their videos are good enough.
This nanodegree I've taken has a lot of material: you can search for the videos even when you finish the nanodegree program. Not only that It last a whole year!
Each School has its own track. Thats really amazing , considering you want to follow some kind of guidelines to succeed in this platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too expensive. Now we need to pay 3 month in a row to get a discount.
Sometimes the project review took a lot of hours.
Career Coaching should encourage people to to this program because it is really important to get to know how jobs are being demanded nowadays.
The price should be less considering this is not a Master degree, or some other degree well known recognized by some other companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Learn something new for me: Python! Very good knowledge provided.
Its important basic knowledge to have If you plan to take a Master in Computer Science in a near future
These knowledge are cutting edge knowledge so I encourage many people to take the Nanodegree programs in order to become experts in their fields.
In my day to day work I use lot of skills that I acquired through them. I can't thank them enough for the study material, support, certification etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to be aware of your deadlines.

What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoyed all the hands-on labs and project based approach. This really helped me learned and also provided experience i could share with employers
What do you dislike about the product?
The only item i would change would be some of the code-review. I had a few issues with reviewers not reading a previous reviewers comments and suggestions. Sometimes two reviewers direction contradicted each other.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Udacity as another training tools.

Overall Positive

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
High quality free classes covers wide range of topics.

Disclaimer: I received a discount on my next purchase of a Nanodegree program for writing this review.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the class are not as good as others. Paid Nanodegree programs could be disappointing (I took NLP). I also dislike the way Udacity classes try so hard to avoid math. A lot of times I'd love to see how something is derived mathematically. That's why I'm a big fan of Andrew Ng.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Develop new skills.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Udacity Nanodegrees covers topics that you can't find through other provider. But that quality of the contents are inconsistent. I wouldn't recommend taking Nanodegrees spending your own money. But if you can get the company to pay for them, then why not?

Solid program with knowledge served in the way you need

  • June 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The content of the whole course. It covers topics which are hard to find and learn in a different way. I learned things I didn't know I should. The program is well organized and working with a live project helped to understand each subject deeper and in a practical way. Reviews provided by mentors were great and very helpful.
“I received a discount on my next purchase of a Nanodegree program for writing this review."
What do you dislike about the product?
Besides the overall impression, some parts were to short in my opinion - fortunately, they put links to other resources where I could find more information.
Some topics were provided too fast and required to view materials twice or check external resources to understand them. It was hard to relay on the community somethimes as all had the same problems.
Bonus lessons (carrier related) were available only for limited time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I built project which becomes more and more complicated as more topics were covered.
I moved forward my programming skills a lot in overall. I found I can solve problems easier. I become more confident in term of my skills and can use other programming languages easily - just need to learn syntax. I learned how to use some new tools which make me to be more productive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check Syllabus to have complete background what you will learn. This should help you to decide.
Keep tracking the scholarships - they cooperating with Google, Facebook, IBM, and others to organize scholarships and make great courses available for free.
