I mainly use Postman to conduct extensive testing on REST APIs, particularly those built with Python and the Django REST framework. Postman is very user-friendly and accessible even for those with minimal experience. In my role, I appreciate Postman for its parts in managing and testing APIs.
Postman also simplifies working with endpoints by allowing different methods to send information, making the debugging process more manageable. It also offers robust compatibility with various environments, making it a vital tool in my operations.
Additionally, the desktop version's features like cookie management, environment compatibility, security settings, proxy integration, and data synchronization add significant value.
What needs improvement?
One of the primary challenges with Postman is handling authentication issues, especially relating to tokens and passwords. The management of endpoints' headers sometimes conflicts with APIs that require information in the body, leading to difficulties.
Furthermore, connection and timeout issues, like when testing APIs that require authentication, can occur.

I have been using Postman for eight years, utilizing it mainly for testing and working with different technological protocols.

What is our primary use case?
I use Postman to test REST APIs. I work with Node.js and create or modify multiple endpoints, and I use Postman to verify if the endpoints work. Additionally, I use Postman to test other endpoints, like public endpoints.
What is most valuable?
In Postman, we have collections that contain multiple endpoints that I can test. I can use multiple environments, which allows me to create environment variables for each endpoint.
What needs improvement?
Something that could be better is the inclusion of another type of test, for example, end-to-end tests. It would be beneficial to expand functionality with additional testing options.

Best Software to test API
What do you like best about the product?
I really like Postman's built-in libraries, which make my development process super easy and interesting. The data visualizer also customizes the API response data with Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a great software, I didn't find anything about disliking it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Postman gives me a way to test and make improvement in the APIs working in the my organization's product. The Moment.js library is making our work really easy. Also checking the responses and sending curls to anyone is no more a task now with postman. We can handle various request body formats through postman eventually saving a lot of time for my organisation.

Firstly postman is very fast as compared to another software talking about the design pattern of the files User Experience is good too and it give me the best experience while using the postman. Mainly i used for my API testing.

The user interface is very easy to learn and use, and it is a lightweight application. It's also an open-source tool for API testing. One of the best features is that you really don't need to be an expert in any programming language because Postman can generate the codes automatically for you.

Prior to using Postman, we used SoapUI. SoapUI was very basic and lacked many features that were then added in the paid version, SoapUI Pro, which was expensive. Postman provides better features than SoapUI.

Installation of Postman is straightforward and can be completed in a few hours by one person.

We did not require any external team for the implementation and managed it internally.

The return on investment is significant due to Postman's efficiency in automating API testing, which involves many input and output parameters.

Postman is economical and is considered to be rather cheap compared to other software solutions.

I have evaluated other tools such as Katalon, Tricentis Tosca, and Universal Function Test (UFT) from OpenText.

I would recommend enhancing Postman's integration capabilities with test management tools to better consolidate testing metrics.

We can test any API created in any language in this application

Whenever a new API is developed it needs to be checked and that can easily be done with the help of postman also we do not need to configure everything by typing we can simply add our cURL code in the import functionality.

Postman helps to check if our APIs are working or not. It also lets us organize the APIs in different workspaces so that we can toggle between them easily. It also lets us enter parameters in an easy way. We can also generate authentication tokens and save them

Our helpdesk product is built totally on APIs and we can test our product to verify if the product is working all right. Also our product is installed on server for our clients and we take postman help when our clients report if any APi is not working
