Great API client

  • December 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman is simple, easy to use and extremely reliable. It has a simple user interface. I like that it can automatically save calls made so that I can reuse them as needed. The ability to open multiple tabs is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ability to create/save variable names is difficult. In fact, discoverability of it is even harder. For e.g. I want to give a user friendly name for my different test servers like [DB-Server URL], [AppServer URL], [QABox], [Jenkins-Box], etc. It is somewhat hard to find how and where I can do this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API testing for product development and testing.

This is easy to use and secure tool. Collection creation for api requests is simple and i can manage these properly. As per the need can set the authentication for api requests. Automated testing process helps me a lot to do the job very quickly. This allows me to create script template quickly. Its user interface is awesome.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike only thing i noticed sometimes large size file download slows the response.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managed the api requests in very efficient way. Saved a lot of time during api testing as the process of creating request is simple in postman. With the use of postman - api regression testing task much easy. Improved security of api requests with authentication.

What do you like best about the product?
This application is easy to use, secure and reliable. Easily can test API on cross platforms. Using this application now i can test APIs quickly. I can create API keys to authenticate the request to Postman. As well as i can create new workspace easily for the developer and integrators as per requirement. Easily can review the history of request as this stores all these.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only thing i noticed that if there is a large scale of array then it becomes a little bit confusing to identify the objects even this can be problematic for fresher developer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Postman made development and integration task easy for us. On requirement base easily we use to update the resource utilization limit. Keeping backup of our data on the cloud with the use of Postman. Feeling more secure as now we are validating request through API key. We automated the API testing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For API testing this application is a great choice and this is cross platform tool.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the exhaustiveness of this tool to shoot out HTTP requests
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool offers a lot. So much that sometimes it becomes difficult to navigate. This is definitely not a con but the only thing I dislike
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Invoking Rest APIs and shooting HTTP requests. I was also able to store sessions so that I dont have to remember details.

What do you like best about the product?
Takes out the headache of trying to run queries on an app
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are too many input fields that can get confusing for simple queries
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Postman allows us to quickly test our database API programmatically instead of constantly running through test cases in the app
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The UI is friendly and the functions are just what you need to quickly test your APIs instead of wasting time manually triggering GET and POST requests within your mobile app or website

What do you like best about the product?
I use the free version to test small applications for individual projects especially. I like it because it makes the development of APIs, fast and easy.
It has an intuitive interface that allows you to easily send requests, save variables and create collections that are easily shared with other users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although its interface is simple, in the first uses it is not easy to find everything that the tool offers and requires some important technical knowledge and a learning time to get the most out of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an essential tool to test APIS easily and quickly. With a deeper knowledge, it allows you to add tests, create workflows and log each request and response for a detailed debugging.

Easy API testing tool that your QA team can use

  • October 19, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fields are super easy to use and quick to fill out. It's good if you want your non-technical QA team to test your API for acceptance testing or can help customers use your API without having swagger set up
What do you dislike about the product?
If you switch types of the payload it doesnt preserve the data fields (e.g. plain text vs json)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's been great to have the QA team test out the API using Postman or give instructions for the end customers to do acceptance testing on their end

Essential for consuming APIs

  • October 02, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the easy that becomes to test almost any kind of service, only by configuring some parameters and, if needed, the environment. The possibility to store and organize your requests by collections and folders is very useful too, joined to the different environments that you can configure (i.e. to test both DEV and PROD endpoints). And now, with the "workspaces" added recently you can share your collections even easily that before..
I maintain it always open in my computer, because I know I will use it several times per day
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe that you have to pay for several options and it would be great if it support SOAP services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I develop REST APIs that I have to test and call from the web (which I also develop) and Postmen let me to directly make the request I exactly want to test, without the need to navigate through the web to reach the button/form/link that also makes the call.
