GoAnywhere MFT Review: Securing College Data Transfers
What do you like best about the product?
It keeps file transfers safe and also makes it easier for students, staff, and administration to work together in one system. It also protects data and makes it easy for different departments to work together.
What do you dislike about the product?
getting meaningful insights into transfer patterns, performance trends, or usage analytics requires significant manual efforts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building complex file transfer processes with conditional logic, transformations, and multi-system integrations takes minutes instead of hours of scripting . Our admins can now handle workflows that used to require our senior developers.
Secure, Reliable, and Automated File Transfer Solution
What do you like best about the product?
I like how it supports multiple secure protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2) in one place, so we don’t need to rely on different tools. It makes file transfers across teams and partners much easier and more secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial setup and configuration require some technical expertise, so a beginner may find it a bit overwhelming. Pricing is also on the higher side for smaller organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has significantly improved efficiency and reduced risks compared to manual methods. It helps us automate recurring transfers, reduce errors, and maintain security.
GoAnywhere: Very Highly Capable, At Times Tedious
What do you like best about the product?
In my eyes I'm a long time user of GoAnywhere 5ish years and use it often. My favorite thing about GoAnywhere is it's extensibility. It truly can go anywhere, if you know what you're doing. I've written custom integration connections with DayForce, NetSuite (JODBC, SOAP, and REST), Prophet 21, and BigQuery all with GoAnywhere's custom cloud connector support.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I can't open multiple workflows / addons at once, without issues saving. As a power user, when things get complicated I don't like that issues can be hard to track down at times. Project organization and documentation is limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use or have used GoAnywhere for ERP integrations, web services integrations, and EDI workflows among other random one-off use cases.

The interface is pretty easy once you get used to it,and it integrate well with our exisiting system and cloud storage. It also keep detailed log which makes complaince reporting much easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial set up is bit complex.Few advance setting was very tough as I was new to it which were made easy with the help of documentation and contant support. Also the web inteface could be bit faster whenloading a large file. The rest is very reliable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping in sending file securely without running manual script. before this we have to use different tool and script for each trasnfer which was slow and error prone.
Secure file transfer solution for our cloud modernization programs
What do you like best about the product?
We used GoAnywhere MFT mainly for moving files from different on-prem healthcare systems to Azure for our cloud data platform.
We used it to pull files from systems like SAP and other EHR/EMR sources and then move those to Azure Blob and mount in Databricks
Best things i noticed,
The trigger-based jobs are useful for automating things without too much manual work
SFTP, FTPS support
Audit logs helped during compliance
Reusable templates for file transfers
Biggest help was reducing manual scripts and FTP headaches
Also useful for handling file encryption/decryption (PGP)

We had multiple on-prem systems sending files manually or through legacy scripts — GoAnywhere helped centralize and automate all of that.
It also helped us enforce encryption standards and maintain audit logs, which is important for HIPAA compliance.
