Snowflake Keeps Getting Better: A Much-Improved UI Over the Years
What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake is always improving, and you really have to keep up with all the new features they keep releasing. I’ve been using it for years, and the UI has improved tremendously over that time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing can feel confusing at times. I had to read the fine print carefully to fully understand all the details and conditions behind the pricing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s enabling us to maintain a single data lake and a single source of truth. Now, with their AI offerings, we can bring more business users onto the platform so they can work with the data more easily.
Easy to Manage, Intuitive Query Language, and Excellent Micro-Partitioning
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to manage overall. The query language and its dialects feel consistent and intuitive, which makes it a great fit for BI workloads. Micro-partitioning is also excellent, even if it’s proprietary.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think their AI features—and especially the naming—are a bit all over the place. They offer AI under several different names, like Cortex, Snowflake Intelligence, Analyst, etc. I don’t really understand why it needed to be split across so many labels.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data warehousing, OLAP workloads, analytics, BI, and reporting, etc.
Flexible, Scalable Columnar Cloud Database with Strong Performance and Integrations
What do you like best about the product?
Its flexibility to grow from a very small free POC to a global multiregion data system with AI, both technologically and in price. This is extremely useful for both startups and enterprises. Its ability to remain open and integrable with standard protocols. And the performance is good for a columnar cloud database.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s price structure once you move to yearly agreements. The sales teams are too greedy and if you are not careful they’ll happily make you pay more than what you really need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrations, centralized analytics, and cover some simple data visualization needs.
Snowflake: Scalable, High-Performance Analytics for Modern Enterprises
What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake is easy to use, highly scalable, and delivers fast performance for analytics workloads. Its cloud-native architecture and seamless integrations make data management efficient and reliable
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside is cost optimization, as usage can grow quickly without proper monitoring. Initial setup, governance, and advanced configurations also require experienced resources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Snowflake helped us centralize data from multiple sources, improve query performance, and enable faster analytics for business teams. It reduced operational overhead and made scaling data workloads much easier.
All-In-One Data Solution with High Costs
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how Snowflake is a very easy-to-use data warehouse where we can store all our data and then write queries in the notebook and do visualization right there. It's the all-in-one feature of Snowflake that stands out, combining the query notebook and visualization all in one place. It's super easy to get someone up and running with Snowflake, as opposed to having to connect a creator to the data warehouse and connecting a BI tool to it. This ease of use, just getting the team ready and working within minutes, makes Snowflake valuable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think primarily the cost factor, it's way too expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Snowflake as an easy-to-use data warehouse for storing data, writing queries, and doing visualizations all in one place. It streamlines getting the team set up quickly without needing multiple tools.
Fast Queries and Easy Query History Lookup
What do you like best about the product?
I like how quickly it runs queries, and how easy it is to look up past queries in the query history.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t like that the interface changes very often, and sometimes it isn’t clear how to use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like the way it shows query errors.
Straightforward Governance, Secure Data Management, and Helpful Cortex AI
What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake goverance & security features are straightforward and easy to use. Users roles are simple to manage, and the platform helps with cloud storage while keeping stored data maintained and organized. The SQL workflow, along with Git repository support, makes it easier to maintain and track tasks within the database. Cortex AI is also helpful for everyday tasks and for wide use across the workplace. Overall, Snowflake supports database cost management and integration needs
What do you dislike about the product?
Snowflake ML tools are quite complex to use as a beginner but the function and features are quite good as compared to other ML tools like models and experiments
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The transformation feature is very useful for everyday tasks. Making dbt projects and dynamic tables are very important features that assista our operations
Simple, Fast, and Intuitive—Great for Large Data Sets
What do you like best about the product?
It keeps things simple and consistent and performance stays fast even when I am working with large data sets. The features I rely on most are warehouse resizing, access roles and retention. The interface is user friendly with a UI that feels intuitive for both internal and external teams and the government feels solid as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
With warehouse and running queries if you're not careful costs can grow quickly. That said I haven't had any problems so far. It helps me to bring together app data and overall it's been working well what I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mainly use it to build data models and feed the dashboard and it has helped speed up our reporting cycles. It's also much easier to manage everything in snowflake instead of juggling multiple systems, which has made it simpler for our team to manage data and keep everything consistent.
Centralized Data Management with Easy Usability
What do you like best about the product?
I find Snowflake pretty easy to use, which is a big plus for me. I also like that it has many different levels of permissions, which really helps to store data securely and ensure that only stakeholders can see it. I haven't encountered any issues with the data workload it can manage so far and the integrations with other systems like Airtable, Salesforce, Jotforms, etc work fine.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is a bit hard to understand the correlation or relationships between data inputs. I also believe that it's quite expensive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Snowflake to centralize our data, ensuring it's in one place and of high quality. It's easy to use and offers various permission levels, keeping data secure and accessible to stakeholders.
Flexible, High-Performance Storage with Easy Compute Management and Smooth Connectivity
What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake storage lets teams work independently with flexible workloads and strong performance, without needing process management. The platforms tools and database features make implementation and day to day management straightforward and the overall performance has been excellent for us. Compute is easy to manage and makes collaboration very reliable across ETL, ML and data queries. Connecting to the platforn is also smooth and works well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Snowflake requires careful management of compute costs. At the same time, it provides some optimized ETL functionality within Snowflake itself and helps keep the information stored in the database seccure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Snowflake helps me tackle infrastructure and server challenges by bringing data warehousing, analytics and data collaboration together in one place. It supports external data sharing and real time processing and it can also be used to work with customer support data. It makes scaling easier as data grows, gives clearer visibility into the underlying infrastructure and supports practical use cases such as fraud detection.
