Reliable, Low-Maintenance Platform for Scalable BI Data Workflows
What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake has been a reliable platform in my day to day data workflows. In my setup, I use dbt to run scheduled transformations and Snowflake handles these workloads efficiently. Data sharing is another area where Snowflake performs well. A notable advantage is the low maintenance requirement which reduces operational effort and allows more focus on analytics and modeling. Overall, Snowflake provides a stable, scalable and efficient environment for modern data operations, particularly in BI-driven use cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
With Snowflake, cost visibility can feel a bit unclear at first and it’s easy to run up higher usage if queries aren’t monitored closely that said the interface is well structured and intuitive which makes it straightforward to find, organize and manage resources efficiently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Snowflake has effectively consolidated multiple reporting systems into a single centralized data warehouse, which reduces data duplication and improves overall consistency in reporting. This centralization has also helped minimize errors, since all teams are working from the same source of truth. On top of that Snowflake’s user interface makes it easier to visualize, access and manage data workflows. Overall, it streamlines our data architecture, reduces operational fragmentation, and improves the accuracy and efficiency of our reporting processes.
Snowflake’s Workspaces & AI Cortex Code Supercharged Our SQL & Python Workflow for Data Products
What do you like best about the product?
Snowflake is a really useful cloud data warehouse that has been improving over time. Recently, it improved its AI capabilities, which makes it much better to work with and, in my case, reduced query development time by about 10x. It has also helped with Python code development. I recently built a solid process to automate work using SQL and Python in a notebook, and it’s working great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Snowflake’s integrations with other platforms have improved. In their most recent comments on X (Twitter) about two weeks ago, they mentioned an upcoming integration with Salesforce that would let you take actions directly from Snowflake. I’m looking forward to that, but as of now it still isn’t supported.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Snowsight UI has been improving a lot. In the past, it felt similar to using a DB management tool like DBeaver, but with the recent updates—especially in Workspaces for better query development and data presentation—it has become much more useful. The addition of Cortex Code also helps with queries and coding, and more recently Snowflake has added capabilities from top AI LLMs like Claude, Open AI, LLama, and others.
On performance and cost, Snowflake seems like a way to spend less and build a solid ROI case, mainly because it pushes you toward building data products. For example, Cortex Code suggests query optimizations and helps make those improvements real. And when it’s handling window function queries, it’s really fast compared to many engines. It also seems to have a caching effect: if you run the same query again, it comes back faster.
Support has been great, especially around Cortex Code. The Snowflake team also sends emails inviting us to participate in surveys to improve the product, which gives the impression of a strong and engaged team.
Another recent feature is the data catalogue. Even though we use another tool for this, it’s still great that Snowflake includes it built in.

Direct Database Access, But Querying Can Be Tough for Non-Technical Users
What do you like best about the product?
I like the way it allows to store data and access it. Help me work directly with the data stored in the database, no middleman.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's pretty hard to query for a non-technical person and I need lots of LLM help to find what I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for data storage of our backend information. Lots of content intelligence and customer data for better results for the users.
Efficient SQL and Easy Integration, But Needs Better UI
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Snowflake for serving as our central data repository with a secure data warehouse environment that we don't need to host internally. The SQL querying is extremely efficient, and I find the pipelines to other programs easy to set up and maintain. Additionally, I like that Snowflake is set up to automatically push and pull from other services we use to host and maintain data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Snowflake is not self-explanatory to users without understanding of SQL. The visual interface could be improved to allow querying without SQL easier. The initial setup is relatively complex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Snowflake as a secure data warehouse that eliminates the need for internal hosting. Its efficient SQL querying and ease of setting up pipelines with other services streamline our data management.
Stable, Scalable Snowflake for Reporting on Large Datasets
What do you like best about the product?
I’m in Snowflake almost everyday for reporting work. Its been stable for me and doesn’t freeze, even when I’m working with large datasets. Writing queries feels straightforward and I rarely need much support to get things done. We also use it with looker and google sheeta, depending on who needs the data and how they prefer to access it. The option to scale compute up during heavier workloads and then scale it back down afterwards is helpful. I also appreciate not having to worry about infrastructure or ongoing maintenance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Snowflake makes it very easy to manage dynamic schema updates, although I’ve also run into some slow performance at times. It streamlines data goverance and removea the storage constraints we used to deal with in traditional on prem databases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It centralizes all of our reporting data, so I no longer have to chase different teams for files. That alone cuts down on a lot of back and forth during month end close and makes the whole process feel much smoother.
Snowflake Scales Effortlessly for High-Volume Logistics Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
In my capacity as a Business Analyst within the transport sector, I utilize Snowflake extensively to oversee logistics and fleet movement data. The platform's most commendable attribute is its capacity to handle substantial workloads with minimal administrative configuration. It effortlessly supports diverse data formats, including structured records and semi-structured data like JSON from our tracking systems. We typically stage our files in AWS S3, process everything within Snowflake, and subsequently export the insights to dashboards in Power BI. Furthermore, features such as automated scaling and workload isolation ensure that concurrent queries from multiple departments do not compromise system performance. The elimination of manual server management is an additional, significant advantage that streamlines our daily operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main challenge with Snowflake is cost management, which requires strict operational discipline. Poorly written or inefficient queries can noticeably slow processing and drive up expenses. There is also a moderate learning curve when you start working with more advanced features, such as data clustering. To help address these points, it’s important to set up multiple user roles and assign clearly defined privileges so the analytics workflow stays secure and cost-effective. That said, it’s a major advantage that manual index tuning is no longer necessary, which is a meaningful improvement compared with older, more traditional systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Snowflake effectively addresses the complexities of managing massive transportation and inventory datasets, especially during peak operational periods. By bringing data engineering and analytics together in a single environment, it reduces architectural complexity and saves considerable time. As a result, reconciling fleet metrics and tracking cargo movements can be done with greater speed and precision, which in turn supports compliance audits and strategic planning cycles. Just as importantly, workload isolation allows reporting to run independently, ensuring business stakeholders receive insights promptly without impeding or slowing day-to-day transport transactions.
