Saas: Fast, Secure, Complete

  • October 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Qlik was the best tool since it has an associative model and cognitive engine. Still, with the saas version now, the users can access their Qlik sense environment in seconds and include two of the most exciting add-ons: alerting (in my opinion, the most useful) and insight advisor chat.
What do you dislike about the product?
With the releases, the functions and visualizations are increasing, but It doesn't have native predictive analytics, and Qlik Nprinting isn't available with Qlik sense saas. It is still a bit expensive but the hosting pays off. The new "suscription" objetc option is useless. I expect it is improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data alerts, Data discovery, integration of multiple data sources, straightforward adoption of the tool, big data dashboard automation

What do you like best about the product?
Qlik Sense is the perfect modern Business Intelligence tool for data extraction, data transformation, data analytics and data insight. The interface is user friendly and encourage users to use the benefits of the self-service functionalities. Qlik Sense keep also in mind that data need to governed and users must able to see the difference between self-service and guided data, apps, sheets and visualisations. Qlik Sense has several deployment possibilities that meets the business requirements. For example it is possible to deploy on-premis, SaaS, PaaS or a combination of these options (hybrid)
What do you dislike about the product?
Data is always around us and the data volumes are still growing. This makes it important for the new generation to get data literated during their education. They need to know how to analyse data and what this means. Qlik Sense should be great tool for the new generation to get familiar with data analytics. However Qlik does not offering Qlik Sense Desktop for free anymore. This makes it difficult for the new generation to get experience with Qlik Sense. The trial license for 30 days is not enough for them to get experienced.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Qlik Sense helps users to create quickly insights/Visualization. The deployment of Qlik Sense is flexibel to meet the business requirements. For example On-premise, SaaS or both (hybrid). It is quite easy to migrate from QlikView to Qlik Sense and offering the same functionality. The license model of Qlik support dual-use of QlikView and Qlik Sense. Users are able to get familiar with Qlik Sense and using QlikView in the meantime.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't hesitate just choose Qlik Sense

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very strong data handling and manipulation capabilities
What do you dislike about the product?
Some front end functionality is limited, minor frustrations with things like datetime formats, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm working on a data/BI team to support a global media company. There is a huge amount of data is generated each day, and Qlik Sense has helped us to dig through and parse out the important metrics to show business users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to learn the basics and understand the pros vs. cons when comparing to other BI tools

What do you like best about the product?
There are lot of visualizations available such as creating different apps including charts of various types as well as maps. You can either connect directly to different sources to extract the data. You can also build and share with your teams
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little bit technical tool and you need to go through training to understand and learn the capabilities of the tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To create intuitive dashboards or reports for the business users to give them better visualization of the data. It helps them in better decision making. We also use to automate some of the repetitive reports as well

A valuable tool in your BI arsenal.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There's nothing like the Qlik associative engine for uncovering hidden relationships between that various parameters of your data model.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were a little more like QlikView in terms of UI behavior and configurability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fairly rapid development cycle. I can be handed a couple of spreadsheets of data and some vague requirements and within a couple of hours have a fully functional BI app ready for production.

Powerful and flexible!

  • October 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
On-premise or cloud deployment, allows for choice.
Associative engine allows for operations not usually performed, such as linking fact tables with different granularity
2-levels: graphic for beginners implies ease of use, extremely powerful scripting for more advanced users.
What do you dislike about the product?
not a very large portfolio of charts: some user requirement do require some ingenuity to be implemented and other are not feasible at all
not a very customizable graphic experience: some of the most used objects (for example, straight tables and pivot tables) are not easily and largely configurable.

the data layer is not shareable between applications, this means that measures and dimensions are to be defined and maintaned independently. This does not encourage a widespread adoption at a enterprise level.

The ability to interrogate data (in a self service BI fashion) is limited to professional users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
dashoarding with multiple and differentiated datasources. Given the ease of access to different connectors, and the fact that a data layer is created on demand, it's easy to include data from very different sources.

in-depth data manipulation amongst the projects that we tackled with qlik sense there are cosome which are not analytics-related, this is made possible by the exteme powerful scripting language that allows basically every manipulation of the data that can ebe thought of.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
understand how to leverage its main strenght which is the associative engine. Do not expect to build a whole dwh.
You should also understand that it does require a user to change its mindset, so a move towards innovation is to be strongly supported.

Qlik: A highly versatile BI tool

  • October 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to shape the data in the load script is most useful in my role. The fact that you can take a dataset and mold it into a dimensionalised schema with pre-calculated fields is great efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
The visualisations aesthetics can be a little clunky sometimes but Qlik is getting better at providing options in the updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're finding work items that previously had gone missing because other BI tools required subsetting to certain teams in 'where' statements. This has allowed us to see all the data visualised and see things that previously were hidden.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The ability to get into the back end of the data model and add variables is amazing. The model can be updated and moved around to suit the stakeholders use case and gain the most benefit in gaining insights into their data.

Intuitive development and end user experience with quick delivery

  • October 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple, easy, and quick development experience with extensive data modeling capabilities for full ETL and complex data transformations
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no global way to apply number formatting requiring extremely tedious manual configurations for every field in every chart. Also the Insights generated are pretty terrible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
getting customers data for discovery
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Add ons can get pricey
