Key resource for reducing mental overhead of compliance
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of monitoring is crucial; automating many tasks that would otherwise fall across many teams and individuals is great to get a crystal clear view of your organizations compliance state. The path to ramping up on new compliance objects is awesome as well, as it provides a great way to get stakeholders all across the org aligned.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the rules are a bit over-prescriptive and aren't super flexible. If you don't use a standard approach to some of the monitored compliance controls, it's hard to make that monitoring work for you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're working on multiple legislative compliance objectives. Vanta was crucial to keeping our team nimble while approaching compliance and organizing our growth journey.
Makes SOC2 Preparation Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta has been a great partner in preparing for and maintaining a security program for SOC 2 audits. The platform makes it very clear what you need to do in order to maintain compliance and prepare for audits with a lot of automation that connects to popular cloud apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is added costs for multiple security frameworks if you need something in addition to SOC 2.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOC 2 Type II audit preparation. We've been able to prepare for and facilitate a SOC 2 Type II audit out of the Vanta platform and find an auditor through Vanta's auditor partner network.

What do you like best about the product?
Continual improvement of the platform, with a focus on usability.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've encountered some occasional bugginess when installing the Vanta Agent, but nothing highly problematic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using this to keep on top of SOC 2 controls. We're able to catch & address lapses quicker than we would otherwise.
Easy to use, excellent customer service.
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta's customer service is excellent. They are quick to respond and helpful. Beyond that, the software itself is easily navigable. The dashboard view in particular makes it easy to address outstanding issues and stay SOC2 compliant.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit tricky to upload documentation, and not every tool we use has an integration with Vanta, so some things (like international background checks) we have to keep track o and upload manually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Vanta primarily to monitor and address potential issues with maintaining our SOC2 compliance. It's easy to use Vanta to put together a report on how quickly we address issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking to use Vanta, just know that you'll also need a remote IT provider for computer onboarding/offboarding. Other than that, it does almost everything!
Really simplifying solution for compliance monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
We are using Vanta to automate security compliances in taking SOC-2 report. As a startup company trying to get these kinds of security certificates, there were many complexities and unknown concepts for us. Vanta offers professional help with both of their dedicated personnel and dashboard. There are many elements you should comply with and Vanta simplifies them by suggesting what to-dos, alerting for deficiencies, and reminding upcoming issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vanta alerts for some errors that there can be nothing for us to do, and these are also not important for our auditors. So maybe some monitors could be customizable at a more granular level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is little knowledge about the SOC-2 compliance elements that should be done. For each monitoring component, Vanta suggests what should/could be done on the dashboard. Moreover, you can ask anything related to the process to the dedicated personnel periodically.
Helpful tool for SOC2 Testing
What do you like best about the product?
I like the dashboard that shows outstanding items as well as exceptions. I also like that you have a dedicated Vanta team member who helps you through any issues you may have and helps with policies and getting SOC2 certificates from companies we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have had some issues when we terminate an employee with the offboarding. We've had to completely delete a terminated employee's account in order for them to show as terminated versus revoking access and keeping the account in the event there is data that is needed in the account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Vanta to assist with our SOC2 audit. It was really helpful that Vanta connects you with auditors that fit your needs. They also have an area that has policies that you can use as a starting point for your own policies, which has been extremely helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Vanta is an excellent resource to assist with SOC2 setup and audit. I recommend using it!

Software is fast and reliable. Dramatically saves time on the entire soc2 process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation is not always clear. I have run into a few defects that I spend more time researching than actually doing.

Improve reaction time of support, quality of answers seem to be lacking. The product manager doesn't seem 100% confident or knowledgeable on software.

Sometimes sending reminders doesn't work. Also, you cant program a daily reminder for the people who are in fault

I'm solving the certification issue that our company needs. The real benefit is how easy I can manage everything for audits

I advise you to use it. Its simple and easy if you need to accomplish certifications for companies
The best tool to go through security audits
What do you like best about the product?
Automations and immediate reactions if something goes wrong with a company set up regarding privacy and security. In addition, it helps companies to speed up the security audit processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The quality of built-in security and HIPAA training could be better, since auditors usually request to see the chapters and topics of those training, but Vanta provides video only.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solve the security and privacy compliance. Vanta helps us not to spend many hours checking if the company complies with all the requirements and makes security officer life much easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just give it a try, and you'll get the evidence that life without Vanta could be a nightmare for the security team.
