Super helpful platform and white glove customer care
What do you like best about the product?
The customer success team is like no other. They make the SOC2 process significantly easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UX of the platform takes some getting used to and there are some workarounds you have to learn, but that comes with a new product.

Need to get SOC2 certification without slowing down our relatively small team for a year.

Vanta is simple & straightforward to use — just connect your accounts and let them take care of automating testing and notifying your team of any relevant gaps.

There are a lot of steps to get set up, including some steps that may not apply to every company. More customization here would be helpful.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the customer service and quick feedback loops. Automating 100% of compliance tracking is a complex mission, and Vanta has converted on product feedback repeatedly to make compliance less of a headache.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI used to be challenging to navigate, but that has since been resolved. I would love to see more integrations.

We used Vanta to complete aid the evidence collection and tracking of our SOC 2 Type II certification.
Organized and Automated Security Auditing Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Vanta are the automated system control features that constantly monitor your system and provide you alerts when you need to take action. This helps us stay on top of security systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vanta does not have some features, including policy monitoring yet. I'd love to see Vanta help with further detailed automation to remind you of relevant action steps in your specific policies.

What do you like best about the product?
Our account manager, Jackie, has been absolutely amazing. During our weekly meetings, she makes sure that we are up to speed on the Vanta systems and are well prepared for our audit. The Vanta controls are well laid out and easy to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with any system, there is a bit of a learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking to become SOC2 certified and have a system help us coordinate all the moving parts in order to successfully pass an audit.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously, we knew that we needed to be SOC2 compliant, we felt extremely confident in our security practices, but we had no idea where to start on the certification. Auditors always said "since we're auditing you, we can't tell you what to do as that is a conflict of interest." Vanta finally gave us a blueprint, a place to store all of our compliance-related information, and the automation to take a significant portion of it out of our hands. Vanta truly provided clarity to a directionless process and industry.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Meet with their competitors, choose the best product and service for you and your organization. Make sure you fully understand what Vanta will and will not do. Finally, understand that obtaining SOC2 compliance is a very significant lift. Vanta helps, but that doesn't mean that it's all "easy" or entirely "automated."

What do you like best about the product?
The best aspect of using Vanta is how integrates with current services being used (like Azure) and identifies the important steps/items to be addressed for ensuring a quality system in place for all policies and procedures.
In addition, the step by step walk-through related to 'fixing' any outstanding items identified. Also, the automated process of continual monitoring and notifications allow for a very rapid identification, process initiation, and resolution of issues.

What do you dislike about the product?
Although Vanta integrates with some main services (like Azure, AWS, etc.), there are items related to the overall process and expectations of what the auditor will need that are not included within the Vanta app/system. Unfortunately, there is no assigned storage, or availability to link to 3rd party storage (like OneDrive, FTP, etc.) for those additional items to be easily shared with an Auditor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using the Vanta tool to solve all our requirements to be SOC 2 compliant; not only as a one time snap shot, but an ongoing endeavor. This concept of continuous monitoring and notification for immediate fixes of issues and all related data being captured and avialble for an auditor streamlines the annual SOC 2 audit process which is expected to greatly reduce future time spent in preparations; as well as incurring a reduced price from the auditor for having access to a tool which shortens their required time and effort in gathering data for the final report.
Utilizing the supplied templates for policies allow for a very comprehensive policy creation and ensures that even the average individual with little technical writing skills can still achieve quality and thorough policies.

The personal interaction and support is exceptional. Any and all questions are welcome and all aspects of using the tool are assisted with as needed. Your assigned support will happily schedule weekly meeting to review all progress, and emails sent between meetings are responded to promptly.

- The built in policy generator / functionality could use to some updating. Would love to see the default templates updated, and better support for custom content.

We are working towards our SOC II Type 2 Audit - We have been able to do this with a very small engineering team because of the help we get from the Vanta platform.
