Good for security compliance. Good training classes, keeps it simple and to the point
What do you like best about the product?
A tremendous help with SOC 2 compliance testing and helps keep track of what needs to be done, still needs attention and what's already been done. Organization is nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
No real way to input that you have alternative solutions or that it doesn't apply. All you can do is tell it to ignore this particular issue or requirement and then have to explain it to the auditor directly later.

Vanta made SOC2 a very streamlined process
What do you like best about the product?
That everything you need to complete SOC2 is in one place. It outlines the controls and gives templates to the policies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the items are hard to locate in the interface. Also, I think this would be harder for larger companies to utilize. But for us, a small startup, it was great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOC2 controls, policies, and procedures. They also introduced us to many auditors.
DevSecOps and compliance made easy
What do you like best about the product?
With the growing landscape of security requirements, it's nice to have a tool that spans multiple areas of the stack like infra security (cloud, container images, etc), employee compliance, security policies, etc. Also, its continuous monitoring capabilities are fantastic, and security admins will hear loud and clear when something is not in compliance :-)
What do you dislike about the product?
Some parts of the UI still require some polishing; for example, if you accidentally mark as completed a risk report task, it's hard to undo it.
It would be nice to have a clearer view of ignored container vulnerabilities, as there are many cases where, for example, a fix is not yet available, so it will be nice to be able to ignore a given CVE for all container images, and then unignore (automatically?) it if a fix becomes available.

How easy it is to use the platform and how simple it is to see compliance, what is needed, and what is missing.

It is a bit more expensive than others but more comprehensive.

Some of features like sync with the employees system with vanta takes huge time. So, I think vanta team have to work on these sync related features

Help us boosting security and compliance of infrastructure and tracking everything on an single dashboard. It's very helpful

Automated checks and prebuilt policies are great tools to get started and implement SOC.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have bad things to say about the product. Even the setup instructions to connect the systems are clear and easy!

A lot of time saved in evidence collection and manual processes.

Really... sign up. You will save a lot of work.
Easy platform - good customer service
What do you like best about the product?
The platform makes the work easy. I especially like the templates for the policies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although they've automated most of the integrations and monitoring, I think the policy creation steps could have less friction. Vanta still does it better than some of the competitors, but there's opportunity for improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HIPAA, SOC-2 and GDPR compliance. Vanta streamlines the project management component of these efforts so that we can focus on execution. It prevented me from having to hire a dedicated compliance project manager.

What do you like best about the product?
Vanta provides a step-by-step walk-through of the entire SOC 2 process and lots of automatically-updating tests and monitoring.

What do you dislike about the product?
Vanta works with most services (across hosting, HRIS, etc.) but not _every_ possible service. So there are some things you'll still have to do yourself. Also, SOC 2 is a long process in general.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Vanta to help us get SOC 2 certification and make that process easier. Without Vanta, figuring out how to get SOC 2 and gathering evidence would be much harder.

Library of templates that are provided by Vanta. Also, the testing it does to verify compliance.

I wish more certs & standards were supported now (they will be in the future, though!)

"Smart advisor on compliance for certifications and attestments. A good platform for organizing your efforts and administration.
A relief to beginners to compliance
What do you like best about the product?
API driven capabilities offer a very easy way to connect your systems to their application. It saves a wealth of information and instructs you on an on-going basis what needs to work.
What do you dislike about the product?
There doesn't seem to be many capabilities to customize the application for specific (already established) methods within your organization. An example would be integrating Vanta to JIRA; it does not seek particular JIRA cases based on a custom label. It uses a default label of 'security to track down specific JIRA's. It will be a problem if one already has a label called 'security' for other reasons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A huge time saver! Wen using Vanta for a SOC2 audit, it actively monitors things like user management, payroll, and other HR systems, Cloud platforms. For users that also have their day-to-day tasks to complete, this is a huge help. Not all organizations have a dedicated compliance team, making submitting policies and evidence much more manageable.
