What do you like best about the product?
DataGalaxy provides :
- great analysis impact : allow us to vizualise all the sources and usage of a data
- collaborative tool : different users can work at the same in DataGalaxy
- central referential : sharing the same language accross the group
- accessible tool : all the employees that have the business email address have access to the tool

DataGalaxy has been instrumental in building a data-driven culture within our organization. Their guidance and resources have empowered our team to embrace data. With DataGalaxy, we're not just managing data, we're nurturing a data-driven culture across the organization.
An essential tool to support data governance
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use of the tool on the business side - user-friendly platform. The division of modules between functional and technical is very practical for clearly differentiating usage by the different profiles within the company. A well-rich knowledge base, and it is worth noting a responsive support to assist Data Stewards and Data Engineers in the technical deployment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to report on the tool, it is important to operate iteratively

What do you dislike about the product?
- Access management is relatively simple. We expect more refined management of permissions, particularly by user group.
- Better integration of PowerBI reports.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DataGalaxy allows us to centralize information within a single application, thus facilitating collaboration between different stakeholders (business, IT, and service providers).

Gather in one tool the business functionalities (glossary) and technical functionalities (dictionary)

The connectors do not all provide sufficiently detailed information.

Knowledge of data assets, business glossary for definitions of essential terms and data, data lineage

Ease of use. Overall, during the various POCs on the tool, the most common feedback was about its ergonomics and the ease of understanding the different components that make it up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislike’ is a strong word, but DataGalaxy is quite a young tool and it evolves regularly. The shortcomings of yesterday will probably be addressed tomorrow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DataGalaxy brings together business and technical metadata. It enables the establishment of effective data governance, sourcing of data, understanding of their semantics, and visibility of their transformations and where they are exposed. We also use DataGalaxy as a support to establish a pivot language in our ecosystem, given that there is no global reference framework in our industry. Additionally, it allows us to break down knowledge silos and capitalize on them (for example, in case of retirement). Finally, DataGalaxy will serve as a support for the implementation of RSE/CSRD indicators, GDPR compliance, and data reliability.

No concern about the product, we're looking forward to new features to better integrate our Power BI reports metadata in the lineage.

As a technical integrator of the connector within our infrastructure I would have liked more built-in automation features.

Our data documentation management was outdated, relying on static documents like Word files or PDFs in multiple versions.
The description of data processing (data lineage) was segmented by business units and restricted to IT teams because some information was deemed sensitive and couldn’t be shared with our business users.

- Quick solution to set up and adaptable to the needs of descriptions of various digital assets (data, processes, etc.)
- Simple solution to use for basic users (in catalog consultation) and for contributors (ease of entering information in the catalogs)
- Numerous specialized features: lineage between data, processes, and usage; evaluation of the quality of descriptions; ability to follow objects of interest to be notified of changes; ability to leave comments on assets; etc.

DataGalaxy allows the concentration of all knowledge about digital assets (data, processes, etc.) into a single platform accessible to all teams, with the ability to record the links between objects. This lineage helps to understand the uses of data in projects/processes and to assess the impact of data evolution (updates, corrections, etc.) on the entire chain that consumes them. This offers better control over the use of data.
