A Cloud Guru review, 99% good 1% bad for existing students

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that they make sure all content is up to date with each platform. Most other sites it is always months if not a year behind the exams.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like existing customers were not given a chance to upgrade to the Personal Basic Plus at a discount and instead were given( A very generous discount I will admit) on their basic plan. I would have opted into the Plus plan for let's say a 100 dollar discount.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping me solve my knowledge gap with cloud technologies

A Cloud Guru offers great and up-to-date learning for an everchanging cloud

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like they are constantly updating their videos and have now added hands on labs. Turning that knowledge into muscle memory. With technology, the industry is changing so fast that educational companies need to stay up-to-date, and A Cloud Guru does that very well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the video ui could do with an upgrade, maybe some options to play next video or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am creating my own websites, especially learning serverless architecture. Currently working in big data so I am planning on incorporating my learning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want knowledge and applicable skills, check out A Cloud Guru

    Primary/Secondary Education

No need to look anywhere else- Exceeded my expectations

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A Cloud Guru has a unique method of teaching and making even the most technical of subjects feel approachable. Their humor is well-paced and welcome during learning sessions. Every one of their instructors is a 1st class technician and a great teacher.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly don't have any dislikes about the A Cloud Guru service. I've tried several such training services and they are - without a doubt - the best I have used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am addressing the shortage of cloud-trained IT professionals. I started with AWS and intend to move on to the GCP and Azure. I passed the basic AWS certification in short order.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it. You won’t be disappointed.

Good hands-on experience and tons of fun

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Even though it has a massive amount of content that does not compromise the good quality of it. The hands-on experience with the laboratories which allows me to be prepared for many scenarios in my daily job. The variety of backgrounds of the instructors enrich the experience because they are not only theoretical, and last but not least, that is agnostic to the cloud so I can learn today AWS but tomorrow GCP.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though ACG has plenty of content and laboratories, they don't seem to follow up so much what is going on the forums, must of the time are the same students (that are learning which reply to the topics).
The mobile app is a little bit outdated and we can be using it in our daily commute to anywhere and increase the speed of learning to all those content that doesn't require me to be in front of a laptop.
There is no much info about Machine Learning and Deep Learning in general. They assume that all the people here already know how to code, putting down the requirements, and all these types of things that in a job makes a huge difference between a person who can create something from scratch and does who just follow instructions. Add Learning Paths for GCP, Azure, Linux, and any other bit meta topic you add in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More confidence in solving problems in the company I work for. I myself have been working in the dev industry for years, but when the time comes, I was required to start using the cloud and I felt a huge wall in front of me. Nowadays, I felt more confident knowing what can I use from the cloud services and how they can increase my speed on creating the system.
Nowadays, since I am following all the learning paths I get to know more services and some peers now ask me for some advice in the best way to solve a problem and it feels great that now your voice is more strong than ever in the decision-making process.
When I started using the cloud my sole objective was to make it work, right now, that is only one of many. Now I know that I can improve the security of the system, the speed for UX purposes, and best practices which makes me feel comfortable knowing that the system that I am delivering is synchronized with the best practices out there.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The way they explain all the concepts are very clear and concise. This understanding is a crucial part to build a solid foundation in order to pursue a cloud developer career. If you commit to the courses you will end up with plenty of useful projects to build a robust portfolio. I will definitely recommend these courses to any enthusiastic beginner or even for more advanced people in the field to polish some basic concepts

Great resources to learn about cloud

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great instructors and very knowledgeable about the topics. Practical hands on examples
What do you dislike about the product?
The deprecation policies are not very clear. I’m trying to finish the aws architect path. One day the deprecated a lot of trainings there (which is ok because they are probably outdated) but there was no replacement. It would be great to see: this training could be outdated so here you have some other to learn the right topics
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Continuous learning and improve my knowledge along with a couple of certifications as a bonus if I can

  • August 20, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
A Cloud Guru has a vast collection of cloud training videos which is enhanced by the merger with Linux Academy.
They also have started coding challenges which is exciting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe they could add interview preparation, and case studies from large companies using the cloud.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping uptodate with Cloud education.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
ACloudGuru has a vast collection of trainings. I think it is easier to access everything cloud-related in ACloudGuru than buying separate courses.

A dynamic learning environment for a dynamic work environment

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A Cloud Guru is a learn at your own pace environment. It goes deep into the fundamentals of the cloud. Whether you are interested in any of the major cloud environments they carefully go over each aspect so that you can have an understanding in the environment you are interested in.
What do you dislike about the product?
The few things i disliked was the lack of practice exams they have available for each certification course
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In A Cloud guru i am able to learn at my own pace. This provides me the ability to go back and review a lesson without feeling any pressure of falling behind. Not only that but they provide links to documentation so that i can dig deeper on the lesson that they are covering. I am also able to participate in various labs to further my understanding. The ability to go in a sandbox and press buttons or type out commands makes all the difference between understanding something on a theoretical level to a fundamental level. Almost like a name to face reference. I may understand how a tool works but to actually set it up at my own pace is a difference maker.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to become certified in any cloud environment ACG is the place to go. They have very good lessons multiple labs to complete and a very active community with a wide variety of questions that sometimes are related to the lessons themselves or even tips on how to pass certification exams.
