The cost for paid the business version is too much.

We are trying to manage many Project and Jobs. This software has added transparency to many departments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is great software for project managing with a great cloud/web style interface.

Very nice, simple project management

What do you like best about the product?
I like the calming layout of Asana. And the overall function of the program helps to cut down on wasted time. It just gets straight to the point and helps you keep larger goals in mind. It's easy to use and there is no way to mess up or lose your place.
My favorite part was probably the color coding. I am very big on this feature in any program.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not that I "dislike" anything, but the issue is that Asana was not right for me. I found that Asana does not have the robust document upload capabilities and other bells and whistles that I prefer. And actually, it generally did not have the features that I enjoyed in some other programs I have used. I know that simplicity is the name of the game for Asana, but I feel there are ways to add features without making it busy and cluttered.
That being said, those few and bare features may work for some users, especially solopreneurs and small teams. I think Asana is what it needs to be, I just don't fall into the category of person who needs it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For a short period of time, we were using Asana to manage our individual tasks. We found that we outgrew the system pretty quickly though.

Life. Saver.

  • May 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana streamlines everything. Where I was getting task assignments through 5+ outlets (and failing to keep track of 50%), Asana ensures that all tasks are in one place, sends me notifications on due dates, allows a one-stop-shop for all relevant information, and is generally such a life saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notifications are automatically set to email users for every task, and for people who are unaware that there is a mobile app and only rely on the email notifications, Asana clutters inboxes and does not streamline work processes. However, once users realize that there is a mobile and browser application, all problems are solved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't lose track of assigned tasks anymore; I am able to communicate and clarify tasks and instructions right in the app through comments. Users can upload graphics, categorize tasks according to bigger projects, and follow other people's tasks to stay up-to-date.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it. Just use it.

Asana is pretty good

  • May 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great, straightforward project management tool. I found it really helpful for being able to keep project details all in one place, as well as to be able to easily track my day-to-day tasks. Being able to see a record of comments is very helpful as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't really say anything on my end that I dislike about Asana. I have had issues with clients having difficulty / confusion locating files that were uploaded to individual tasks. Our management ended up switching from Asana to another product that was more highly customizable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management. I found that it was great to be able to keep all your project details in one spot and was really easy to use. It helped to keep me organized and on track.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before choosing asana, I would make a list of all the functionality that you need and make sure that it is in-depth enough for your needs. I found Asana to be a really straightforward, easy to use project management tool. However, my superiors at my current company found that they needed more in depth tracking functionality and we ended up switching over to Wrike.

Easy to use, full featured task and project manager

What do you like best about the product?
I think Asana is one of the easier task apps to use, and getting team members going on it was fairly pain free. The structure of Projects > Tasks is what you'd expect, and they do it well and intuitively. Assigning tasks to team members is great, and being able to communicate within those projects/tasks right in Asana is very useful.

The free version offers enough to scratch the itches and get the job done. The features that are behind the pay wall are not necessarily crucial, but can be very useful for a scaling business.

And of course, Asana's integration with a myriad of other apps and services is pretty great.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that is a little annoying is not being able to assign a task to multiple people. One person on a task may work for a lot of things, but not all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to streamline our projects and tasks workflows. And it's helped keep a nice visual overview into what's going on in the company. And of course, the satisfaction of clicking checkmarks is addicting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a lot of features on the free tier, Asana is great.

Asana is a sigh of relief in a heavily crowded work monitoring app market

  • May 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the quick relay time between the mobile and web apps. Its almost instantaneous and allows me to flow between devices seamlessly which in turn makes teamwork and communication extremely efficient as everything can be done on one program rather than updating on a separate program, then using another one to communicate whats been done, and another to ensure that that message has been received.
What do you dislike about the product?
As great as the information relay is, I feel the mobile app falls short when it comes to situations where you may have multiple projects with multiple team members. This limit the app faces is largely a hindrance to productivity. In addition, despite being able to see all tasks by project, you cant filter them to see only your tasks.. that should be changed imo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like that I can use Asana to monitor and keep track of project progress, and how it prompts for the organization of a task into its components that helps to further elaborate on what needs to be done
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your agency runs multiple projects at the same time, remember that the mobile app is limiting in this regard and can ultimately limit project accountability. I would suggest that you take a look to see if your project needs are in line with Asana's ability to accommodate them

Asana is the best place for an agency or really any size company to manage multiple projects. With everything perfectly categorized with an assignee and due date, the projects run smoothly.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no downsides to using Asana- They have incredible documentation that assists with any new user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has streamlined the workflow, ensured to make sure deadlines get met, tracked differences in tasks, and syncs perfectly with other integrated programs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Your business NEEDS Asana!

Loving the updates

  • May 01, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana didn't exactly have everything we needed when we started, but they've been continuously improving.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to decide how to set up your organization so that it runs most efficiently across all teams without bringing in an expert. More examples would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are keeping more on top of tasks that used to fall through the cracks.
