It's very easy for anyone regardless of tech background to make updates and changes to the site.

I don't have dislikes of Storyblok based on my role in using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The marketing team owns the website and has varying degrees of CMS knowledge. Storyblok makes it much easier to divide the work among many since it's so user-friendly and straightforward for any skillset.

What do you like best about the product?
Thea ease of use and the possibilities to create custom components that can be modified by content creators without the help of a developer
What do you dislike about the product?
The folder structure can leave a lot to desire if you have a lot of components or pages created within the framework
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The use of development time to actually change content on a website; The people that are responsible for their content can do this without a developer's help
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It might be what you are looking for clients in combination with dynamically created content

Working with Storyblok V2.

What do you like best about the product?
Easily creating components and implementing it with your React framework. Easy to learn, easy to extend and make more difficult applications. Also, easy to learn it to the content editors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The making of plugins is only in Vue, which I do not prefer. Making it able to choose between different libraries/frameworks would improve it. React would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not using hard-to-use SaaS for CMS anymore and have more grip on your data structure. This results in making more in less time! Also, not working with Wordpress anymore.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Everything is out of the box, but be aware that plugins can only be written in Vue (current state). Easy to learn though!

    Design

Visual CMS that clients love

  • March 31, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Storyblok is easy to sell to a client because they also provide materials tailored for content editors and marketers people. This set them apart from most CMS that usually focus too much on the developer experience. Apart from that, the king feature is the visual live editor mode. After a quick demo, clients buy the idea quite easy and I can start doing my job.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say that their Graphql feature is a bit disappointing. I started from there but switched to using their own SDK APIs some of the functionalities didn't work as in a 'standard' Graphql API service.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm allowing Charites to manage their content and adapt their donations campaigns without needing too regular help from our development team. The visual editor helps them to understand what to do without having any technical background.

Good usability because of the component-based design.

What do you like best about the product?
With the Visual Editor, I can immediately see my changes live, which is fun. The components of a page can be moved with ease. The individualization of each component is especially great.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment I haven't found a way to lock components. I want to populate a component with content and then use it more often. Currently I do this by copying, which is a bit tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The headless cms can be easily connected to javascript frameworks using ready-made code examples. Furthermore, the live view in the visual editor is very helpful, because you can immediately see the changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The Visual Editor is the highlight of the headless CMS. Creating components is also very great, as it is easy to understand and therefore quick to learn. The user interface is also super nice. No comparison to Wordpress, which can be very tedious due to a high overbearing user interface. It should be mentioned that there is also a free option for students or single persons, so all features of the headless cms can be tested perfectly. The Storyblok community is still very small, but it is growing day by day and Storyblok support is always there for you. If you are looking for a headless cms that is perfect for both users and developers, I think you are in good hands with Storyblok. It looks simple and clean and not buggy at all. At the moment, I feel like I have full control over content and components due to the customizability down to the smallest detail.

My all-time favorite CMS

  • March 30, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The visual editing experience is great. My coworkers in marketing who have been using it for the past 6 months have had only good things to say about it. Its so easy for developers to extend and for marketers to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The permissions are very granular but could be even more so! I'd like to have more control over exclusions of different content types.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing marketers to create content without developers, and quickly see their work before it goes live. It has improved our publishing experience for everyone.

    Marketing and Advertising

intuitive, user-friendly, snappy and fast!

  • March 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our customers love the CMS and we love the backend. The CMS is clean, well-designed and intuitive and gives the user a real-time preview of the implemented content. From the backend perspective, it is great that existing components are reusable and easy to duplicate and move between various pages. Overall it is easy to navigate and easy to get used to.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing model could be updated. A lot of our clients are used to a free-of-charge CMS like Wordpress and sometimes it is hard to explain, why not all are free. However, when stating the benefits, most of them convert and never look back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Obviously creating beautiful, snappy websites that are easy to use for the developer, the customer and the end-user. The main benefit is the customizable CMS and the overall speed performance.

Intuitive CMS with many functions and quick & easy handling

What do you like best about the product?
A great headless CMS with a really good visual editor / live preview. This means that even staff without a technical background can easily maintain content. Good expandability through own plugins.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is currently no market place for plugins. Integrating product data from your own e-commerce system could be even easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storyblok is the CMS for our Webapp

Editing with ease

What do you like best about the product?
From a technical standpoint, enjoying full flexibility on the frontend layer while still getting an easy-to-achieve WYSIWYG experience is a deal-breaker. Storyblok is a catchy thing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adjusted pricing but as long as it goes hand-in-hand with the quality of the provided services, clients will remain happy. We are seeing a couple of improvements in the V2 beta already which is hopeful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We as an agency are building Jamstack websites that are powered by a headless CMS by default. Fast frontends need fast CMS in the background and Storyblok is just that.

Storyblok: A one stop solution for all your CMS needs

  • March 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Storyblok provides a complete solution when it comes to a content management system and much more. It comes in with a visual editor which enables content creators to create and update their website's look feel as well without any help from developers. As its core offering, Storyblok provides a robust infra and an array of functionalities ranging from managing content (both website pages and blogs), tags, asset management, and even component creation. Using components, one can create reusable website widgets and use them on the fly as and when needed. Management of components is also fairly easy as is the whole user experience of the product. For the developer side, they provide APIs so that, if needed, Storyblok can also be used as only a CMS while one can have their front-end design. Overall it is a very usable and impressive product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing major. The app directory is still to grow I think but that will happen with time as adoption increases for the product as newer use cases would be identified with an ever-increasing user base.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were exploring CMSs that provide APIs and also supports reusable components so that we can use our own user interface while do not invest in developing a CMS in-house.
