Proactive Resource Optimization with IBM Turbonomic

  • June 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about IBM Turbonomic is its ability to automatically analyze real-time application demand and continuously make resource allocation decisions without manual intervention. It doesn't just generate alerts—it takes action based on policies, helping maintain performance while reducing overprovisioning and unnecessary cloud costs. The platform provides deep visibility across hybrid and multi-cloud environments and integrates seamlessly with tools like Kubernetes, VMware, Azure, and AWS. This level of automation and insight drastically improves operational efficiency and service reliability.
What do you dislike about the product?
While IBM Turbonomic is powerful, there are a few areas where it could improve.
First, the user interface can feel overwhelming—especially for new users or teams without prior AIOps experience. Navigating through dashboards and interpreting all the metrics can require a learning curve.
Second, while the platform offers strong automation, customizing those policies or integrating with external systems often needs scripting or more advanced configuration, which may not be ideal for less technical users.
Lastly, the pricing structure may not scale well for smaller organizations or teams with limited IT budgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Turbonomic helps us solve the challenge of ensuring application performance while keeping infrastructure costs under control—especially in complex, hybrid cloud environments.

Before using Turbonomic, we often dealt with overprovisioned cloud resources, manual scaling decisions, and reactive responses to performance issues. Now, Turbonomic automatically analyzes real-time application demand and continuously allocates the right resources at the right time.

This proactive resource management has led to:

Improved application performance and stability

Reduced cloud and on-prem infrastructure costs

Less time spent firefighting or tuning workloads manually

Greater visibility into resource utilization across our stack

IBM Turbonomic: Simplifying IT Operations with AI-driven Insights

  • June 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
IBM Turbonomic excels at providing real-time, AI-driven recommendations that help optimize both application performance and infrastructure cost. What I like best is its ability to automate resource allocation decisions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments without manual intervention. This not only ensures continuous application health but also significantly reduces operational overhead for IT teams. The platform’s clear visibility into resource utilization across all layers — compute, storage, and network — helps in proactive planning and performance assurance.
What do you dislike about the product?
While IBM Turbonomic offers powerful optimization capabilities, the initial setup and integration can be complex, especially in large, multi-cloud environments. The learning curve for new users is somewhat steep, requiring time to fully understand and trust the platform’s automation recommendations. Additionally, the user interface, while functional, could be more intuitive and modernized to enhance overall usability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Turbonomic helps solve the challenge of managing resource allocation across complex, hybrid cloud environments. By providing real-time insights and automated actions, it ensures that applications always receive the resources they need to perform optimally without overprovisioning. This has led to improved application performance, reduced cloud and infrastructure costs, and decreased manual effort for our operations team. The platform’s proactive recommendations also help us avoid potential performance bottlenecks before they impact end-users, leading to greater system reliability and efficiency.
