Their extensive experience in data warehousing, the platform's performance, and their strong reputation in the market are the most valuable.
What needs improvement?
One issue we've identified is that its performance varies across different on-premises setups and doesn't consistently meet our standards. This limitation necessitates the purchase of Teradata's proprietary hardware to ensure the desired level of performance. The capability to implement it with comparable performance across various private cloud environments, ensuring adaptability to different infrastructure setups would be beneficial.

What is most valuable?
Teradata is a great, industry-leading data warehousing product that has MPP architecture. In recent times, there have been many other products available in the cloud space. It has a lot of other features like linear scalability and unconditional parallelism.
What needs improvement?
Teradata hardly supports unstructured data or semi-structured data. Teradata is very costly, and it's not easy to upgrade or expand the components in Teradata. A lot of infrastructure needs to be set up in order to use Teradata.

We are thinking that Vantage will solve our some of our IT issues which we are facing today and also we are planning to implement some of our own ideas to make things easier with our environments for usage between Cloud resources and Teradata DB.

Enterprise scale, highly trusted across secure industries, but still lightweight and flexibile for sandbox evaluation/development. Capitalizing on right-now trends like GenAI/LLM with a concrete strategic model. Great culture and people.

Combination Analytics + AI solutions. We apply a lot of desktop automation and end to end orchestration, anchoring this on an industry and use-case specific dataset at scale with outstanding AI integration and performance is a fantastic value prop.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to run mixed concurrent workload seamlessly is what I like about Teradata most. Workload management and query optimization offered by Teradata are by far the best in the industry. Clearscape analytics has lot of potential and companies, it helps run analytics without ever moving the data outside of Teradata.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being the in the cloud space soon enough. Vantage lake edition is bridging the gap that was there before between Teradata and other cloud native data warehouse solutions.
