My students and I love Deepnote
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of collaboration, and clear interface. It's by far the most beginner-friendly Jupyter notebook.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am a little bit worried about the upcoming changes to do with Git. At the moment it is really easy to help students push their notebooks to GitHub. Also, I occasionally run out of computing power and would like extra resources for education. I teach apprenticeship, so I do marketing for Deepnote as my students are likely to get their employers to use the notebooks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's very easy to make a Deepnote notebook and share it with students. When Zoom is unavailable students and I simply collaborate in the Deepnote without any need to screenshare.
A great online notebook and collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
I prefer the UI over other notebooks and it has lots of useful buttons inside each cell for those of us who don't use a lot of keyboard shortcuts for various reasons.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't used it enough to have any dislikes yet. I'm just a student and I'm using it to practice python and data analysis, I will update if I find things that I do dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote is helping me kickstart my training in data analysis. So far in my limited use it works flawlessly and let me explore and learn.
Powerful platform to carry out data science projects in a collaborative and fast way
What do you like best about the product?
In Deepnote you can organize your projects, run your notebooks, and experiment with your data, all in one place. Also, you can work with your teammates as if you are using collaborative tools like Figma or Google Docs, and you can create an app to show your results. The UI is better than other platforms, and you can easily use some integrations that Deepnote has.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have access to GPUs (as in Google Colab) or use Deepnote with your computational resources, and cloud provider. Also, I'd like to get a quick display of large files (or have them displayed in chunks on the fly).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can work fast and do more experiments at the same time. Also, I can carry my projects on the cloud and work directly on the browser, and present my results quickly.
My experience with Deepnote.
What do you like best about the product?
The collaborative nature of deepnote, I can easily collaborate with others. I can access and connect my github account easily. It is better in that it is easy to connect with your peers when doing a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found it hard to maneuver around deepnote, it is aesthetic fine but the user experience is hard for a novice. Simplify the user experience and also increase tutorials.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I recently was using it to access drake robotics code examples and didn't have to install drake thus making it faster for me to learn and solve robotics problems.
easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
the data remains in our account and we. can come whenever we want to use it again. moreover the the machine is also comparable to other online platforms
What do you dislike about the product?
the ram is not enough and when we want to use huigher machine rate is more than google colab
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i had used it for my phd data analysis and deep note offered me better resources
Great for group projects
What do you like best about the product?
Collaborating in real time with other team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
No dislikes noted at the moment with about 3 months of usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working as part of a team has members from different areas working together. Deepnote allows all of us to work together on the same project easily.
I recommend Deepnote everywhere
What do you like best about the product?
It's so easy to share reproducible Jupyter notebooks when collaborating with folks. I love my current usage and I do not even need to install too many libraries on my laptop. Deepnote just does the heavy lifting on that front and I feel so empowered doing a lot of work and school projects with their platform. I hope I can be a loyal user for more than 5 years. Such a game changer given the environmental constraints in running shared Jupyter notebooks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I'd like to improve is to enable dark mode. I am a dark mode fan and I have to view everything in white so it's not really my best preferred view when coding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It removes the need to reinstall packages across multiple machines and makes sharing Jupyter notebook projects so much faster!
Keep up the good work!
What do you like best about the product?
- It's incredibly easy to create a new Docker image. Never had a better experience getting the packages and software that I need installed.
- I love the ability to turn notebooks into dashboards
- The UI is great

What do you dislike about the product?
- I wish there was better Git integration, like a way to make commits or push straight from the UI, instead of falling back to the terminal
- I wish there was a way to schedule and deploy notebooks
- I wish there was a way to give viewers kernel access so that variables and things could be set in widgets (I understand then they aren't really viewers so I'm not sure how that would work with pricing)
- I wish there were "add code block ABOVE" options

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes it super easy to share analyses with the data team and with stakeholders alike. If there was a way to do filters and variables like a dumber tool such as Periscope/Mode, it could completely replace those tools for me.
An amazing experience
What do you like best about the product?
Deepnote is an amazing data notebook for everyone. I used Deepnote in my online summer course and it made collaboration so much easier. The fact that my teacher could edit and change my code made my learning process so much faster and easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Deepnote is almost an amazing tool, however it is quite slow. The beggining process and starting up the hardware can get tedious at times. Also when prompting an user input, Deepnote is slow to take input thus resulting in empty inputs which results in faulty code.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote is mainly solving problems with online collaboration and setup. I did not need to install a phyton program or anything else to my computer, I opened a Deepnote account and I was ready to go. Online collaboration is also so much easier with Deepnote.
