Thoughtspot potential with 'messy' data
What do you like best about the product?
The speed at which ad hoc questions can be answered and visualized is a real strength of Thoughtspot. This allows both analysts and stakeholders to quickly find the information they need and move forward.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data structures require a substantial amount of work at the beginning of the project when you have messy data. Other BI tools allow you to code around some of these issues, but Thoughtspot really needs a strong data structure to produce accurate results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are attempting to use Thoughtspot to answer ad hoc requests related to our financial datasets. We are analyzing 'cost per' metrics, variances, budgets, etc. and would like to free up our analysts by allowing stakeholders to answer their own questions from time to time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider what your ideal use case is and see if it is a fit. Will you still use other BI products? Is this a supplemental tool or the primary BI product.

What do you like best about the product?
Thoughtspot is damn user friendly, and I really like how easy it is to upload the data and get to know the metrics without having to know the technicalities in SQL

I really want the NLPS feature to be on soon

We are working on the usecase, where we extract data from Jira and Jira align and getting to know the status

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that ThoughtSpot has evolved impressively throughout our journey with it. Its introduction of GenAI tools like Spotter and Sage have revolutionized our manual searches and build visualizations. For example, I can simply ask plain-language questions about causes that have resulted in changes in data and get insightful answers along with visual explanations. The AI highlights and KPI monitor have been extremely helpful for real-time alerts and for analyzing performance changes saving us a lot of time. Over time, ThoughtSpot has also significantly improved its mobile experience by bringing in real-time updates and campaign tracking while I'm away from desk. Overall, it is way more intelligent and collaborative now.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve around the AI tools can be a bit steep for users with less technical expertise. This could be worked on by offering more coaching and explanation of how AI reached its conclusions and the processes behind it. Another issue that can be worked on is the customer support responsiveness. Recently when we ran into configuration issues, it took a significantly long time to get a resolution. Having access to experts quickly through a streamlined process would be extremely helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization was looking for an easy yet efficient way to manage data and analytics without having any paper record. We found ThoughSpot and started using it to get detailed student insights and competitor's data and the trends in the industry. It is an amazing tool that has helped us extensively in managing data and financial services like scholarships without any hassles.

Unlike other competitive platforms like MS Power BI, ThoughtSpot do not encompass all capabilities in one place.

Visualization of data in real-time has enabled us to make informed determinations at workstation.

I would urge them to contemplate their size of data to be visualized or complexity of reports.

What do you like best about the product?
ThoughtSpot is compatible with a wide range of data sources and is one of the most efficient and optimized platforms for business analytics. The UI is also very ergonomic and provides a smooth experience to the users. Also, with minimal IT knowledge, one can use ThoughtSpot very efficiently without any issues. Data visualization has also become very easy and helps us to generate comprehensive reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
The performance using large data sets is sluggish and I have faced lags while doing this. I feel like additional tutorials should be added to get the user acquainted with the platform much better. Assigning users with roles is a bit tricky and can be a tedious task. Other than this there have been no issues so far with ThoughtSpot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has enabled us to gain insights into projects and business processes which has allowed us to make informed decisions. We have been able to run queries and perform analytics on huge sets of data without any hassle. All in all, it has benefited our organization greatly and helped us to scale our business substantially.

What do you like best about the product?
We mainly use ThoughtSpot to cater reporting needs in my organization. It has streamlined data visualization on invoices, which improve decision making.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, ThoughtSpot do not cover some capabilities. For that reason, we use SAP Analytics Cloud when performing corporate performance management procedures.

What do you like best about the product?
My favourite feature of thoughtspot is how it enables you to perform a real time search on cloud databases like snowflake and big query. I also like the speed with which you can perform search with large data sets. The natural language processing is another key feature of thoughtspot as it allows you to search in natural language. The ease of use of this tool is also outstanding.I like how this tool allows anyone to comfortably analyze data without the need of having a data analyst. SpotIQ is another outstanding feature that allows you to get insights that you would otherwise have missed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have anything that I dislike about thoughtspot because it has met all our expectations since implementation. Querying is quite simple with this tool. It uses machine learning and AI capabilities to give you an amazing user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use thoughtspot in our company to get insights from our company data which are very important in the decision making process. Its intuitive nature has enabled more people in our company to perform data analytics even with no technical knowledge on this field. This has brought self service analytics for users. It is also used to generate reports.
